With only 1 week notice, I needed a towbar fitting to my VW Touran.

Did all the phone around & Internet searches, phone calls etc and got prices ranging by well over £100.

I wasn't sure of the options or reasons to choose swan-neck, ball-plate, 7 pin or 13 pin electrics, detachable - etc (you get the idea).

After a few calls I started to understand, but my call to United was the most helpful, he was very patient and a good explainer.

I settled on a detachable swan-neck with ball-plate (so I can mount a cycle carrier) and 13-pin electrics (which will work with standard trailer 7 pin using a £15 adapter cable).

Appointment booked for the following week.

All done as planned, hoped & needed thanks.

Not happy with the car's plastic bumper needing a cut-out, but that's VW's fault not United's.

After fitting the fitter spent time explaining how to fit, remove, check & lock the removable swan-neck.

All in all summary:

I'm very happy.

I'd firmly recommend them.

I had bought a car with a Witter removable towbar that would not locate correctly when a trailer was hitched up. I called several companies on a Saturday afternoon and the ONLY one that took the time to assist me was United Towbars. From Jen in the office to Jason, a mobile fitter, their care and assistance was simply incredible. I am not a customer of theirs yet but having had Jason spend time over several phone calls explaining what was required, what I should attempt to do and finally resolving my situation, THIS WAS A JOY TO EXPERIENCE. The old saying of "people do not care how much you know until they know how much you care" really applies to this company. The least I could do was write a review and when I need a towbar in the future and when anyone I know needs one, I'll be recommending this company immediately. FIRST CLASS!

Quoted and booked with a lady who keeps you informed of progress. The fitter turned up on time and spent many hours on a difficult fit in December weather and on my drive.

Nothing phased him and I was impressed with his care of not leaving wires uncovered. Everything was replaced like new.

This company also removed tow-bar and twin electrics from one car and fitted to another prior to PX.

Could not fault anything.
