Worst Experience Ever!!!

Some TIPs about how to buy a car at good price from my experience

As you can see, This is my frist time write a review EVER.

The reason that I writing this review, because I just want to WARN you about this dealership!

Let's starts my WORST experience with Southtown Hyundai!!!

I have been a customer to Southtown for over 5 years. I have had 2 cars(2007 Santa Fe GL, 2009 Elantra Sport) from this dealership, So which means I'm not from other dealership or car sales man. The car is OK,

No complain about the car, BUT the people in this dealership is A JOKE.

The Only reason that I bought 2 cars from this dealership and stayed with Southtown Hyundai was I had no problem with my car(I even change every engine oil in my own town-Whitecourt), and the first sales man was very professional and kind- I KNEW the car price that I financing was little higher than the actual cost of car-.

HERE is the CATCH!!!

You think you are not naive, BUT You are when they pushing you to buy the car today!!!!!

I was naive, I bought the 2009 Elantra Sport for $21,395.00 + GST, no discount, financing for 84 months.

After 2 years and 6 months payment, The left over was $15,000.00

This Southtown offered me $5500, I was like \"What??\", fight the price for an hour, finally $6500 something,

YES I owe to the bank over $8.5K after trade-in my car value. mileage just over 45000km, its sport package, had sunroof, spolier, etc.. yes there is some body damage since the car is sport model, its lower body than normal Elantra GL model.

SIMPLELY, West Edmonton Hyundai offered me $9000 in 2 min. YES, I still owe over $6K to the bank.

I'm about to tell you what happened on the day that I visited Southtown Hyundai.

I was there around 2-3PM to check the price on Sante Fe GL, and do some test driving, since I have a wife, one child, and plan for one more baby, so we need bigger car.

I did test driving, didn't like new 2011 Sante Fe at all, so I changed my mind to 2011 WHITE( I hate White color)Vera Cruz GL Premium AWD.

They offered me few thousand dollars less since its clearance model. I count offered $8,000 dollars less from MSRP, they accepted it if I bought the car TODAY. SO FAR SO GOOD... you think, NO!!!!

They said its MSRP is $42,999.00 and after discount its $34,999.00.

The 2011 Vera Cruz GL Premium with All Wheel Drive MSRP is $36,999.00. GOT IT? Since it's clearance sale EVERY Dealershop Hyundai offer $4,000 discount from original MSRP. So I might get 2 to 3 thousand dollar discount after Doing business with Southtown hyundai over 5 years.

CRAZY RIGHT?

NOT YET.

NOW, sales person brought the sales manager I don't remember the name sorry, but he is african/american.

I my self, a South Korean, very proud that Korean maker like Hyundai sales very good in North America.

Anyway, The sales manager showed me the paper and go over very quickly, I mean REALLY QUICKLY, monthly payment over $600.00 a month for 84 month with no money down, and asked me for some down payment, he asked about $2K, I said $1K, so I paid with my VISA card, I signed all the paper that they asked and COME HOME WITHOUT THINKING ANYTHING.

When I got home, I was still STUNNED. I was stupid, I was happy that I thought I got a very good deal.

Sat in front of computer, just checking around what kind of this Vera Cruz was.... and Boom, SHOCKED!!!

The MSRP:

2011 Vera Cruz GL = 30K

Vera Cruz GL AWD= 34K

Vera Cruz GL Premium AWD= 37K

Vera Cruz GLS AWD = 40K

haha ㅜㅜ, I couldn't sleep all night, crazy mad and sad. ㅠㅠ

I called them next morning, wish to talk to that sales manager, it's his day off, stunned!!

asked for someone Who can Help Me. Finally, General sales manager answered my prayer.

He said come and see him, so I drove from Whitecourt to Edmonton (2 hours), hoped he can help me.

Now, I want to be a smart ass after spent over 7 hours at that dealership -no dinner too- for nothing,

I called other dealership in Edmonton to check the price and services. I explained what happened in Southtown Hyundai to other dealership. Other dealerships all STUNNED, one dealership even said, \"That's why we don't do business with SOUTHTOWN HYUNDAI! We hate to talk to each other.\" and of course, they promised better service and price. AND they Keep their Promises- I will tell you later-.

- At the end, I will give you some tips what you can get, and what you can save from the Hyundai Dealership

ANYWAY, I went to see the General Sales Manager, after I stop by 2 other dealership.

All I wish was get back my $1000.00 from this monster building. I knew my hope was wrong right after I see this guy.

The Great General Sales Manager!! Sir.

He refused to give my money back, he said, \"You signed the paper that says no refund, We will never give you the money back whatever you do, whoever you call\".

I talked to a nice guy-just sales man- from West Edmonton Hyundai, he said, \"No Hyundai dealership hold customer deposit unless over 30 days, AND even over 30 days the dealership should give a customer his/her money back if one's changed mind, it's a customer satisfaction we promised\".

I got my $500 deposit back from North Star Hyundai less than 7 days, which I deposited on Last 2011 Black vera cruz that I want to buy.

Anyway, the Southtown Hyundai manager refused to get my deposit back, after fighting for an hour, I mentioned what other dealership offer, he quickly changed his face, AND HE OFFERED Same and said give $500 more discount since I'm a Royal Customer to SOUTHTOWN HYUNDAI. STUNNED AGAIN!!!

You know, it's very hard to refuse that kind of deal. But I love the human than Money.

I asked him to get Black Vera Cruz from North Star which he need to pay $$$ for transfer from other shop to here, and get ready for financing paper which I did on that day, which sign the no refund paper.

*****I got 2011 Moonstone Grey Vera Cruz GLS-AWD, Leather seat, power seat, sun roof, Auto Tailgate, FULLY LOADED!!

from West Edmonton Hyundai AT THE LOWER PRICE !!!!!

Even Free IPod cable, Front matt, Back matt, 750L Petro Canada 30cents off per litre, Free oil change as long as I have this car.

Got it? You can get good deal from good people.

NOW, let's look at the doller sign.

All I need to pay is $575.24 for 84 months with $2K down. $598.94 for 84 months with no money down.

car: $39,999 ---- I got $4,000 discount for 2011 model. As I told you Every Hyundai dealership D/C in Canada ========= $35,999

Trade in: $15,000 - $9,000= $6,000

NOW, do you understand why I call SOuthtown Hyundai a Liar, Liar, Liar?

When you get quote from Southtown Hyundai, Do NOT put any Deposit down, bring that quote to any other dealership in your area Hyundai.

Freight & Dealer Prep--- this you don't need to pay. this is dealership money, the Freight is already included in your MSRP <--- a friend of mine told me, he used to a sales person in Vancouver Dealership.

All the Dealership is in competition, You can get better deal from other dealership EVERY TIME!!!

If the model of the car you want not change the exterior, get one year older car - you always get better deal.

Don't let them fool you with low lease monthly payment. Financing it and trade after few year later.

If you want to buy a car this year, buy it around September. You always get the clearance discount price.

And spread this words out there, so no one have the same experience as I had.

SOUTHTOWN Hyundai General Sales Manager promised that He will give my $1K back in 10 days, It's ONLY because his relationship with other dealership - What a BSTD!! - he didn't even say sorry or nothing.

But he never gave me my $1,000 refund yet, I phoned him and waited, it's been a month now.

I will erase JUST THIS 6 LINES comment right after he keep his promise or I will send this comments every

website that I know, even in korea.
