Mazda 3

Bought a Mazda 3 in 2013, at the next service discovered that the engine management light had been taped over and had been permanently on since I bought it.

Not good. Avoid.

I Bought A Kia Sedona From This Company By The Tim

I bought a kia sedona from this company by the time I got it home the engine management light came on so I rang them bear in mind the car is sold with warranty they did not want to no all they said is that I must have put petrol in it I had the recipe for diesel to cut a long story short after several return trips and so called repairs I took it to kia were they said the diesel pup had gone only after threatening them with trading standards the put a second hand pump on which wasn't fitted corectly so ithat broke down again in the end I jus gave up with them total waste of time I had a pump fitted at kia then no problem after that my advice is to stay well away there shud b a law to shut this people down they are just rip of merchants you been earned

Disgusting

Brought a mini from sms motors and ever since a week after its needed up to now 1700 pound worth of work on it doing. They won't return my calls and the finance department won't do any thing about it. They are really bad do not under any circumstances use this company they are vile.

Gone Out Of Business !

Took out a gold policy warranty as extra , salesman said would cover us for 24 months . policy looked good , said any claims just call the number he had circled in pen on the policy and they ( auto protect who run the policy ) would pay up to £1,000 on a claim . less than a year into policy had to make a claim , clutch problems . total cost £600. But guess what not covered !! Dealer gone into insolvency !!! Policy told now invalid , with a year and half still left on it . outrageous

Do Not Ignore The Reviews

I bought a Nissan Navara in November 2014, the friendly salesman took me for a very short test drive, barely enough time to warm up the engine. I'm no mechanic but i had a good look round the car and everything seemed to be ok. Less than 6 days later i noticed it was leaking oil heavily all over my drive. I contacted SMS and got through to the very friendly salesman, who was now not so friendly., In fact became quite aggresive and stated as i had asked for a few hundred quid off, i bought the car without warranty. I advised them it was not fit for purpose and it was my statutory right for them to rectify the problem or give me my money back. They insisted i took the Navara to be checked over by a Garage they use, i had to hang around leicester all day while i waited for it to be looked at as they refused to pay for a train or arrange a lift back to my home town 20 miles away. When i picked it up, the garage said it was the rear crank shaft seal, and then to my suprise he advised me SMS were going to carryout this repair themselves???????

This smelt a bit fishy, so I took it to an independant Tech centre my wife works at, who informed me both the front and rear seals had gone, the clutch plate was completly contaminated with oil,so much so he was suprised it wasn't slipping. Also the rear leaf springs clamps were also heavily corroded and any significant weight could cause them to fail !!!

SMS claim every car/pickup is fully inspected beforehand, however.

The Tech centre i took it too (who incidentally, carrys out all mechanical work of Peugeot/Citroens new cars) said " the entire engine bay was plastered with oil and this is clearly an old problem"

I phoned SMS with this information and asked them to pay to have the work done at my garage of choice, they refused and said " pay us the money we knocked off for the warranty and they will sort out the problem" i refused, they then said " if your not happy, go legal with it".

I couldn't trust they wouldn't do a short term bodge, so i spent another £900 getting the repairs done at my garage of choice, i continued having problems in one form or another, so in July i traded it in with a reputable dealer.

In hindsight I should have gone through with my threat and contacted trading standards but to be honest, SMS do not care. They have been fined by trading standards in the past for selling a Mazda that was involved in an accident as it wasn't road worthy and are suppose to follow the used car sales code of conduct, which clearly they don't.

Admittedly Some people get lucky and get a car that is ok.

I read the reviews before i bought from them, and put it down to people just whinging. I never write reviews about anyone, but believe me, they will take your money and if you have any problems with your car/pickup you are on your OWN!

bought car of these clowns with a 6 month warranty. problems with car after 1 month so contacted warranty company. Told SMS motors had cancelled policy. Tried contacting dealer to but no response. Steer clear

Stay Away!!!

Bought a Car thinking it got a MOT pass only 14 miles back only to find the Brakes failing on M1 cost me £500+ to get it sorted. I am sure they knew tried to get in touch its almost like they vanished called 18 times no response sent signed for letter which was returned, then I sent normal 1st class mail it returned saying addressee gone away.

Brilliant Experience

After having problems in the past I found it difficult to get approved for finance. I needed a reliable car for work, the girls that helped me get the finance were fantastic. Couldn't of been more helpful! They got me approved and I went down there. A great selection of cars I picked my car and drove away the same day. Thank you for all your help!!! Will definitely be recommending to everyone. Fantastic service

They Helped Me Get Car Finance!!!

Been trying to get car finance, no one could help me. Saw them on Facebook applied with no hope, hour later was accepted and booked in for a sign up few days later was driving a focus away. Thank you guys, don't know how you do it!

I bought my car from SMS and I have had a great service. My golf has actually done over 200k and still going strong.

I guess it depends what your problem was with them. Like I said my car has been fantastic.
