Worst Experience Of My Life So Far Quicks Stockport

Like many people i expected a smooth no-nonsense honest approach from a big company like quicks. Well it was smooth alright... After being kept waiting (to view he car i had already booked to come and see!) i should have realised the old ways of pressure selling are still going on today, and walked away at that moment.

In a nutshell the car had some problems which they promised to fix before I picked it up, when i picked it up everything seemed ok other than the tank was empty (quicks wont even give you a teaspoon of juice it seems). Shortly after getting home the car starts mis-firing, running badly and failing to start, all pretty obvious to even the most ignorant person let alone their trained mechanics. I spoke to the management and they got the car back to check it over, only to say" nothing wrong with it mate..." .

This is a total mickey-take as even people i drive past look at me and say things like "Christ that’s sounding bad". I have even got a garage to check it and they say there is a problem...i mean what will it take for quicks to admit they have not done what they said they would!!!!!!!!

I now have no choice as they are pretending they cant hear the problem , i guess we go to court. So far Quicks are even refusing to stand by their warranty so thats not worth the paper its written on either.

My advice to anyone buying from Quicks.

1..The minute your kept waiting to look at a car start thinking "here we go..."

2..Take a mechanic or experienced person with you.

3..Don't trade your car in with them, sell it privately, you get more, and in my case i could have done with the old car to drive around in !!

4..Perform as many tests on the car as you can, from cold. Warm engines behave better than cold ones.

5..Take a £30 plug in diagnostic code reader with you, that will tell you if there is any problems in the cars memory. Wish i had.

6.. Do not take your wallet with you....if you like the motor they will hold it for you and this means you can go home and reflect on whether you are entirely happy so far.

7..Look for all the reviews for quicks stockport, remember happy customers rarely leave comments---whereas thems that got shafted will tell you the truth.

Absolutely Fine

I read the awful reviews after commiting my £200 deposit but before driving 200 miles to trade my car for the replacement. I feared I was wasting my time and money. I was wrong to worry.

Quicks sell about 400-500 cars a month across the dealership - that's 5000-6000 a year. So they get 80 lousy reviews over 3 years from a few customers who made a mistake. Not surprising.

I drove away with a deal I liked and which I doubt would have been bettered elsewhere. The difference between my trade-in and purchase - the price to change - was good. I am somewhat amazed at the high price they are now asking for selling my trade-in - at the top end of CAP valuation, unlike their sale to me which was at the lower end. But, as I said, I am happy.

Would Not Reccomend Them

Purchased my Citroen C4 Picasso car from York branch last June. Have has nothing but problems with the car since. I took my car in so many times as fuses kept blowing but the problem has never been solved. I will no longer use my in car charger. All my warning lights came on only to clear when I turned the car off and on again, top glove box has broken lights keep blowing and a diesel leak in the engine so bad the garage I took it to said I was lucky my car had not burst into flames. The garage also said when they were running my car to check the leak had been repaired, my gear box screamed which was something they had never heard before.

As a single parent that lives in a rural area I need a car I can rely on and feel safe in with my daughter. I can not afford to buy another car I do know what I am going to do.

There reaction is tough we are not going to do anything about it.

Dishonest And Callous

Bought a car from here, when went to part ex it 10 months later it turns out the car had a plate change that I wasn't aware off as well as a discrepancy within the mileage meaning no dealer would even consider taking the car off me as they believe it has been clocked! Legally they have to meet a requirement when doing background checks on their cars, if this was done this discrepancy would have been picked up. General manager is an absolute joke!! I would warn anyone DO NOT BUY FROM QUICKS STOCKPORT. I am now seeking legal advice.

£1800 Repair Bill 8 Months Later

Do not go anywhere near this place. I bought my BMW from York. After driving it away i got 2 miles down the road and a warning light came on, so it was straight back fro a 2 hour wait to sort it out. If only that was the main issue..... I had only had the car a few months when another light came on the dashboard. I took it straight to my local BMW dealership who investigated it. The boot void in the boot of my 320d was full of water and it had short circuited the main electric matrix board and all the cabling including the battery. The bill was £1800. I rung Quicks 6 times and was promised a call back - No calls back until the final time. In the meantime the BMW dealer did a full investigation and informed my the car had been in a rear end smash and the vents had put back on behind the bumper with 2 bolts instead of 4 - Hench the water ingress. They said they weren't prepared so send anyone out to investigate unless I drove to York (I Live in Birmingham). I sent all the photos of the damage and the assessment report from BMW to Quicks and then chased them 3 weeks later with a call. Guess what no reply. I than Wrote to them and got a response from their solicitor. "Car sold as seen - you had no problems for 8 months so you probably caused the issues as it was fine when it left here" DO NOT BUY FROM HERE - I now have sold the car after I paid the repair bill and cut my losses

2 Cars In 6 Months

My wife bought a car 6 months ago and had to be returned due to the huge amount of issues, she took another car and spookily enough she is now having issues. I would never in a million years buy another car from this place and if anybody reads this review save yourself the trouble and don't do it yourself.

They simply only care about selling there bangers and the after care is horrendous, they have no customer service skills and they simply do not care.

TAKE MY ADVICE AND STAY AWAY !!!!!!

Do Not Touch Appauling Service

THIS COMPANY TOOK A DOUBLE PAYMENT OFF MY DEBIT CARD. TWO AND HALF MONTHS LATER I AM STILL TRYING TO GET IT BACK DESPITE PROMISES FROM THE MANAGER WHO TOOK IT FROM ME THAT IT WOULD BE BACK IN MY ACCOUNT. I HAVE MADE NUMEROUS PHONE CALLS AND SENT MANY EMAILS. I KEEP BEING BLOCKED WHEN TRYING TO MAKE A FORMAL COMPLAINT AND THE EMAIL ADDRESS ONLINE DOES NOT EXIST, THE EMAILS JUST COME BACK TO YOU UNDELIVERED.I HAVE THREATENED THEM WITH LEGAL ACTION ETC BUT THEY SEEM TO THINK THEY ARE UNTOUCHABLE AND THEREFORE NOT BOTHERED. THE ATTITUDE OF THE STAFF WHEN I CALLED IN WAS AS IF I WAS BOTHERING THEM, NO APOLOGIES WERE GIVEN. I HAVE NOW OPENED A DISPUTE WITH MY BANK WHO WILL BE DEALING WITH THIS. WHAT SORT OF ESTABLISHED NATIONAL COMPANY DOES NOT HAVE A FORMAL COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE AND DOES NOT REPLY TO PHONE CALLS AND EMAILS? AND ALL AT MY EXPENSE ON AN 08 NUMBER. I BET IF I WANTED TO BUY A CAR THEY WOULD HAVE PHONED ME STRAIGHT BACK. AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED THEY KNOWINGLY KEPT HOLD OF MY MONEY,WHICH IS ILLEGAL, NOT THAT ITS ABOUT THE MONEY ANYMORE IT'S ABOUT THE FACT THAT THEY TAKE THE MICKEY OUT OF THEIR PAYING CUSTOMERS.

Worst Customer Service Experience

I've just had the worst customer service experience at Quicks Stockport car dealership I've ever had the misfortune to encounter.

Having paid a £200 deposit to have a Citroen C5, transferred from Sunderland to the Stockport branch, it should have been a relatively straight forward and 'quick' process to actually take the car for a test drive. Little did I know the Quicks name doesn't bear any relationship to the expediency of their customer service.

Having been told any time after midday would be fine to take the car for a test drive, I arranged to be there at 12:30pm, running a little late I telephoned ahead and informed the dealership I would be there by 1pm.

On arriving the assigned car sales woman told me in passing I'd have to wait while she dealt with someone else first, despite there being another 4 or 5 sales people standing around apparently doing nothing.

Thankfully another sales man unlocked the car for me to have a look around while I waited. On returning to the showroom he informed me that it appeared the car didn't have a service history as there were no stamps in the maintenance book.

Unfortunately I didn't have all afternoon free and informed the staff I had to shortly pick my daughter up from school. The assigned sales woman eventually returned and asked if I was ready, then immediately said we'd have to wait until the trade plates returned from someone else out on another test drive before we could go out. Over an hour later I eventually got to test drive the car.

Finally I sat down with the intention of purchasing the car yet when I questioned Quicks on a) the incomplete maintenance record b) sticking brake pads noted on the test drive c) a slight reduction on the asking price (less than £150)I was told (after much to'ing and fro'ing between the desk where the manager and other sales staff where standing and where we were sat) that the maintenance record book was "generic" and wasn't specific to the model of car we were intending to buy, no offer of investigation of the brake pads was made and that there would be no deal on the price.

I asked to speak to the manager who when I started to inform him that it was the worst customer service I'd ever experienced cut me short with "don't think that a complaint about service translates into a reduction in price!" He then quoted me a higher price than the price the car was up for and said "that's the price." I said "no its not its up for less", "oh yes" was his reply, when I asked about a slight reduction in price he responded " it is your fault" pointing at my wife, "this business was set up by a woman...."

I’m not sure what customer service training Quicks undertake for its staff, if any, but the lack of attentiveness and outright rudeness we experienced falls way short of what I expect from such a high profile dealership. It may be no surprise that I asked for my £200 deposit back.

Reading other reviews about Quicks I realize that unfortunately I'm not alone in my experience as their business model obviously doesn't involve looking after customers despite the "We're here to help" tag line.
