I asked the BMW finance company how much was outstanding on my car so that I could hand it back and pay it off. Lloyds gave me a verbal deal to buy my car which would virtually wipe this out.

However, when I turned up to do the deal they reneged on it by £1000 I was fuming because I could see that the figure on the paper had been altered from a 6 to a 5.

To be fair, after complaining to the manager they went some way towards the initial deal. This was wiped out by the fact that the finance company took another payment from my bank account even though they had given me a final balance settlement. I phoned the finance company and they said it was Lloyds fault not theirs because they have access to the account and knew exactly how much was owed.

Don't get me started on tyres and 5 year servicing...
