I came and put a deposit down and was very happy with the salesman, and his services. However, i wasn't offered to test drive it as there was no coolant in it and needed a repair. I was assured it would be fixed before the completion of the sale. The same day, we had a family financial emergency, which meant I would be unable to purchase the car. Now I understand the terms of a contract. I'm not stupid. However, considering it was LESS than 24 hours since the deposit, I thought as they are a family run business, they would be compassionate and refund us due to our circumstances. I was wrong. I know everyone needs to earn a living, but the car probably wasn't even moved on touched in that time, so it wasn't like they had lost money by prepping it. Especially with the cost of living these days and the fact we called so soon to explain. No compassion with this 'family run' business. Wouldn't recommended. Also, their website depicts you can have a 14-day cooling off period with a full refund, but only if you buy a car over the phone, which isn't clearly explained on their website. Careful reading is advised. And before horsepower comes back with a response, I am fully aware how a contract works. It's a shame as I know bigger dealerships would have refunded no issue. You also didn't tell us their was an admin fee either. I'll advise people to use bigger more well known dealerships such as Ford, kia and VW as their customer service seems to be not only more professional but as I've said, more compassionate towards people's ever changing circumstances. In hindsight, I'm glad it's just the deposit I've lost and not the full amount, and after speaking to others who have purchased from this garage, it seems incredibly unreliable.

Where do I start?

Bleep from horsepower seems like a stand up really nice bloke....Well......

I bought a supposed Quality Assured audi q7 that had 104 pre-checks done before sale and came with a 3 month warranty for over £12,000 on the 30th of December 2022. Drove back to Scotland, and by the next day noticed an oil leak.

Spoke to bleep in the new year.as he had sold me the car and was told to take to my local garage for a quote. Sump plug was leaking, had sealant around it to try and top it leaking.

Replaced and was reimbursed by horse power, so I am thinking great, sorted.

However leak continued, tried calling numerous times as well as emails, but got no response.

Managed to eventually get it into a local garage, and to my horror, there are multiple issues within the engine and sealant has been used to try and mask the issues within. So, either 104 checks werent carried out as stated which is sham, or they are the ones that used the sealent to mask the leaks or if not they would most definitely have been noted during the 104 checks so they knowingly sold this car which was not as advertised, which again is sham.

When I Managed to eventually get a response from bleep at last, who said he "wasn't ignoring me, just very, very busy" and that he would be intouch with me on Monday 13/02/2023 as he needed to speak to the owner. No call or email received. I have called numerous times now and emailed numerous times, but no response and I am just being ignored.

I am now paying for a full inspection to be carried out to use as evidence for trading standards and will be going down legal avenues as the vehicle has been unlawfully sold and is not as described.

I will be very shocked going by the faults listed if it is even roadworthy, which has not only put myself, but also my children in danger.

Have only had the vehicle a matter of weeks with issues the day after buying it, and I havent even put a 1000miles on it yet.

Nice to see how this company treats Military Veterans.....

Steer clear and don't take the chance. I am looking forward to flying down at the end of the month to speak to them face to face, about this, but in the meantime, as I am being purposely ignored, I am.going down the route of seeing if the local papers in Kent would be interested in writing an article about this shambles, whilst I start getting all the evidence together for legal action/trading standards.

Salesman Will Tell You Anything To Put A Deposit Down!

Summed up on one word, DISAPPOINTING [oil warning light, brake warning light, seals broken, pet smells masked with air fresher...]

Simply put, I bought a car from Horsepower for just over £15k. Prior to placing the deposit the salesman assured me some cosmetic items (Alloy refurbs, Paintwork Polish, Car Valet to remove pet odour) would be looked at. I even followed this up on an email prior to collection and was assured it had been done. Salesman said it would take 2 weeks to prepare the car, not sure what was actually done in this time, or if its a sales tactic to build trust?

- Most of the pre-agreed items were not done, it is obvious that the minimum possible was done

- I am engaging in an email resolution process with them, where because I said "Alloys" and he stated "Alloy", that is why only 1 alloy was looked at, amongst other items.

- he agreed to re-spray the door on collection and is now denying/ignoring this.

- The pet odour was masked with a Aerosol spray prior to collection and the car smells deeply of pet smell, again, I was told the car was valeted, but it was just hoovered as under the mats, it was full of pet hair and dirt!

The dealership does seem professional and large on the outside, but I've now learnt my lesson to not trust and check everything VERY carefully.

I would certainly not buy from here ever again, which is a loss to them as I change my car every year!

Update 1 month on:

- One month on the Brake Light is now showing (see picture), I have got this checked by Audi, the rear brake pads are 90% worn! He assured my, anything needing doing, would be done.

- The Oil Warning light is on too, stating "overfilled" (See picture), I think they just tick every box on their "fake" 140 point" check

Bad experience from what looks like a good dealership on the outside!

They Sold Me An Unroadworthy Car

I decided to buy a Jag X-type from this garage. When looking at the car, I pointed out that the front nearside tyre was worn, the salesman said they would sort that out. As the car would be given an MOT and an AA check I decided to buy the car, confident that it would be properly checked before I drove it away.

I purchased the car and drove it home. They had given me the wrong manual for the car. I returned the manual and asked for the correct one to be sent to me-so far (5 weeks) I have had no response.

Much more importantly, the tyre was not replaced. When the car was checked by a local garage, they reported that the tyre was so badly worn it would soon burst. It was in fact illegal to drive on. In addition the spare was destroyed due to being driven on while flat. The tracking (front and rear) was well out-causing the tyre wear. I replaced both tyres at a cost of £182, the Horsepower Motor Centre refuses to reimburse me for them. So, the HMC let me drive away in a car that was not roadworthy, after an MOT and a AA check. So don't buy a car from these people-they can't be trusted and their checks are worthless.

Fantastic customer service. The staff went out of their way to help. Very polite and efficient too. Attention to detail and overall job fabulous. Generously doing more than agreed in the original quote and sticking to the same agreed price. The seats now look brand new again!

i recently part exchanged my Range Rover vogue for a newer Range Rover sport, whenever I had anything needed to be done to my car I always come to horsepower and am always very happy with the quality of work and the customer service, so when it was time to upgrade this was the only place I would have bought a car from, great service and knowledge from their entire team.

Great Customer Service, Good Quality Cars

I bought a bmw 335i from these guys and after a couple of months noticed a slight problem, nothing to bad just a small leak coming in from the roof (was a 07 plate and I didnt even notice for a while could have easily been overlooked) but the guys from horsepower sent a recovery truck picked up the car and sorted it within a few days for me with no problem at all, I would really recommend buying a car from them, they are not traders who will fob you off with excuses. Really pleased with my car now and I would only ever use Horsepower to buy cars with in the future. The car was fairly priced and I have peace of mind knowing they are there if anything does go wrong. Really polite and helpful on the phone and over email. couldn't recommend them enough. cheers guys really pleased I bought from you.
