Shocking Poor Sales Knowledge

Like a lot of buyers, I arrived after looking at lost of cars on the Internet. I was ready to place an order if I was happy. I wanted a business runabout and the Ford Focus diesel econetic looked just the ticket. It has low CO2 emissions and great fuel consumption figures due to some advanced technologies. I drive lots of hire cars and already know Focus's drive really well so it was just a matter of looking at one in the flesh, going for a test drive to check the gearing and seeing if my local dealer would offer a great price from a stock model as I wasn't concerned about colour or exact specification.

Evans Halshaw Ford Milton Keynes were totally disinterested in selling me the car. I spoke to three staff there and all agreed that the econetic doesn't sell. They said they hadn't seen one for over a year and that people only wanted petrol Focus's. That is ridiculous given the sales figures and the launch dates for the current tweaked econetic vehicles, which are only a few months ago and the original econetic launch in 2013.

They also told me definitively and despite my challenges that the econetic doesn't come with cruise control, even when I told them I had already confirmed with Ford the same morning that all econetic Focus models have cruise. One of the things I had wanted to check with the dealer was whether there were any other differences between econetic and regular diesels, but I gave up at that point.

I went elsewhere and ordered a different car make from another local dealer even though the car does not drive as well as a Focus.

It seems to me that Ford make very driveable and good value cars. I am driving a hired Mondeo at the moment and often hire a Focus. However, this is the second time their dealers let them down. Last time it was a disinterested dealer in Enfield, North London three years ago who told me it was a 6 week wait for a test drive, also in a Focus. Again, I went to another manufacturer.

I Can Honestly Say That This Dealership Has The Wo

I can honestly say that this dealership has the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

I booked my car in for some repairs and had to wait 2 weeks for a courtesy car, then on the morning I arrived the loan car was not available so I had to rebook for another 2 weeks later when another loan car was available. They showed no sincerity at all for the problems it caused me and the lad on the service desk wasn't even a grown up - He looked like he'd just left school and couldn't care less.

Then on the next occasion I finally got a loan car left my car with them for the whole day, got there at 5 o'clock and my car hadn't moved from the space it was parked in and I could quite clearly see that the part that it was in for hadn't been replaced. They hadn't ordered the part! Which I had asked specifically 2 weeks earlier to be ordered.

Absolute bunch of clowns - Typical substandard Ford customer service.
