I sent through for an estimate of price, it came back for a old style nissan micra of 1500.00. They came out to view it, however, I had looked at the mileage on the MOT certificate of our other car and accidentally told him the wrong mileage, when he came he said he would look round the car and then came back to me and said because it had another 20,000 on the clock he would be reducing the price to 300.00 as he did not want to go away without a sale as he had done a 100 mile round trip to buy a car and had brought a member of staff and paid his wages. I said it was a genuine mistake but no way was I taking 300.00 for it. He mumbled and said he is normally polite to customers but if I had put an advert up myself the buyer would come wanting to see the correct mileage up which is true, but it was genuine mistake and I was made to feel awful, no way should it reduce the price by 1200.00 though. I sold it two hours after for 1000.00

Well we have a new car being delivered and need to get rid of our current car. To avoid the hassle we looked at a number of sites that buy cars online and were unhappy that many pay 4 days after they have your car. We live in strange times and I do have concerns about this model of business.

So cash in car (www.cashincar.co.uk) was the answer, they would collect the vehicle and would pay cash. Not the best price, but least risk and hassle.

Friendly on the phone and arranged to visit to collect the vehicle, even phoned to say he was delayed.

Everything fine, paperwork completed and ready to go until out came a cheque book. Denied offering to pay cash, "reputable company and had written lots of cheques so nothing to worry about". Unwilling to draw cash or make a CHAPS transfer...enough said about this company.

Contacted a local dealer, better price and cash paid.
