Volvo Warranties Not To Great
I have been trying to get a start/stop problem fixed on my Volvo car which I bought from barnetts Dundee. for the last couple of years since buying the car new now as the warranty has almost run out we are still in the same position as before it does not work now they are dragging their feet in getting the car picked up before warranty runs out Volvo head office said they have to extend the warranty for a further month car has a very low mileage of around 4000 miles and has been well looked after and serviced now after being in the Volvo workshop many times for this complaint it still does not work am I smelling a rat I have asked till I am blue in the face to get them to get this sorted once and for all surely it would be simpler to fit a new part and not keep on doing a patch up repair on an almost new car they said it was the battery and seemingly put a new one in even though I said this would not work but of course they are the experts so who am I to disagree this did not solve the problem maybe I will get some joy when they do eventually decide to take car in I now need the car full time as other car has gone to my grandson they car was oredere4d new from the Volvo factory Volvo are decent cars if they are fixed properly from the word go I hope they do the right thing and stop trying to do a cheap repair

Worst Experience Ever When Buying A New Car
I went to buy a Mazda2 the salesman was new and he did his best. They tried to force us to register the car on the 28 December even though we were not getting the car until 4 January. Have never been told so many lies before getting delivery, when i contacted the dealer principal he was not much help, the deposit I paid was returned. I e-mailed the MD but he did not bother to reply.
Bought the same model from Struans Perth got a better deal and was told no lies what a difference and a pleasure to do business with.

At First I Would Have Recommended To A Friend - Af
At first I would have recommended to a friend - after being a customer with Arnold Clark they were a delight! But of course that was only because they wanted the sale. Once I had signed the paper work i had to wait over week to get my car. I told them i did not have a paper copy of my bank statement and was told this was no problem. Half an hour before i was due to pick my car up, while I was already half way there they phoned telling me i couldn't have my car without a recent bank statement. Could they not have just said this from the start!!
I then realise after picking up my car that they only gave me 5 months tax on my car and i payed for 6! I think it's a joke full stop that i had to pay for the tax on top of the deposit - but to only give me 5 months! They told me there was nothing they could do about this as they decided to tax it in Jan even though i got in in the middle of Feb??!! I said I wanted this dealt with or some kind of refund and i was told I would get a call back. 8 days later and I am still waiting on my call... They are nice as pie when they want your money but once they have the sale they're not interested. Will no longer be recommending to friends and will not return as a customer. Just as bad as Arnold Clark!!!!

Barnetts Of Dundee Terrible Service, Bo
Barnetts of Dundee
Terrible service, bought my new VW Golf in March. It went in for its service 2 weeks ago and while it was in I asked them to look at the air condidtioning unit as it was faulty, the air con needed replaced, so was booked back in for them to do it. Less than a week after it had been in for this repair the car broke down? Why? Becuse they had not re-installed the belt, tensioner and bolt correctly. Left out in the cold for 3 hours less than 10 miles from their dealership wthout even the offer of a cuppy when eventually the car was towed in. Good luck with their servicing department, if you can get them to answer their phone- or even look at you when you go in, appalling customer care - wont be back.

Barnetts Volkswagen In Dundee Will Charge You Astr
Barnetts Volkswagen in Dundee will charge you astronomical prices ( almost 11 times the cost of the parts just to fit them in ) for any work done on the vehicle either in sheduled service or not. I took my car to them 3 times in last 3 months and i am getting more disappointed by the time.
VW are nice cars , but even being a fan of these cars I dont think I will buy one again just being aware of the cost of maintenance.
beware Barnetts VW

In Respect Of Volvo Division - Very Poor Standards
in respect of Volvo division - Very poor standards in service department - incapable of performing simple diagnostic without computer -"full service history" from this garage is worthless. Parts department is laughable (if you can actually get anyone to answer the phone !) supply your own part numbers or you will get the wrong part!. Wouldn't object to dealer prices if they could actually do the job right.

It Was Easy To Get A Booking For A Service, If Onl
It was easy to get a booking for a service, if only it was as easy to get a parking space!
Upon dropping off the keys I was not asked the mandatory "is there anything else you want us to look at" which I thought a little unusual. When I went to pick-up my car the only paperwork provided was the receipt and the dealer stamp in the service book, I quite like the normal service tick sheet which is, I think a nice record of the service (not available).
Two weeks after my service I got a call telling me a part had come in for my car (something to do with horn), this was news to me as I had been told nothing and the receipt never mentioned it. Anyway I took my car in to get the warranty repair. Whilst waiting to be picked up a service technician drove past me in my car heading towards Tesco; does a warranty repair for the alarm really require a test drive? Upon picking up the car this time the only paperwork received was the little brown tag attached to my keys.
At the end of the day I have a warranty repair and no paperwork. Pretty poor so now I go to another Volvo garage near my work. I would suggest you do the same ;o)
