Very slow in communicating. Telephone the usual "we are experiencing a high number of call" and email responses up to 14 days. From date os submitting the claim form and documentation along with a telephone 'interogation' another 4 weeks to payment. This included mislaying the original claim form. All in all a satisfactory score based on the final outcome.

We should have asked what percentage of claims are paid.

Staff are very polite, even when they are refusing to pay without reason.

TravelPlan Direct travel insurance were brilliant with fast and sympathetic treatment of our claim when our son was seriously injured in the US in 2005. While other companies may have tried to wriggled out of their responsibility, Travel Plan Direct were helpful and supportive, and paid up in full, easing what was a terrible experience for us all. We have used them ever since.
