I took out a policy with Mondial for a skiing holiday which I bought through Pierre & Vacances and have spent three months trying to lodge a claim for a broken snowboard. A fault on their website meant that I initially lodged the claim with their sister company (Allianz) who apparently passed all the information to Mondial for me some 2 1/2 months later. I have heard nothing from Mondial and they just don't respond to emails. Eventually I spent a tortuous 30 minutes on the phone to France at the end of which they sent me the wrong claim form - a form for cancellation rather than for damaged equipment. I have emailed them back and heard nothing at all. I will NEVER buy insurance from these people again. I am only thankful that it was just a snowboard that was broken - am horrified to think what might have happened if any of my family had been injured.

I took out a travel insurance with this company recently. My luggage was delayed, entered a claim, they came back saying that I was not covered? I had a similar claim with this company some years back and they then also came back to me with a stupid excuse. This company is cunning people into buying their insurance, when it comes to a claim they find a way out. I will never ever use this company again. Use your money wisely.

Claimed For Flat Tyre, Legit Claim Denied - Do Not Use
denied after doing everything by the book. i got a flat tyre on my car rental but they said instead of getting it repaired myself keeping the costs low they said i should have called the car hire company & got them to send out a recovery truck to tow it to a tyre garage & get them to do it, wasting time & instead of £100 i spent on the new wheel i should have paid the tow company £230 for the tow AND pay for the tyre.

Son Died Tragically, Yet No Coverage On Travel.
We purchased insurance for travel on Eurostar train Paris to London on the SNCF web site and we received the worst call of a parent on a Friday morning that our oldest son had died tragically in the US (travel was for Sunday). We called and cancelled the train travel (with SNCF the train company) and immediately flew to the U.S. but did not understand the travel insurance required notification within 5 days. Due to notifying beyond 5 days the trip was not covered.

Purchased as the only option on Expedia.nl with my intl flight for 2 people. Relied on Expedia for offering me an option that covers all-in. Purchased travel package 3 months in-advance.
Had serious, unexpected problems with car on morning of departure due to change of season, phoned in on-time to advise that we will do our best but most likely arrive late. no taxi / public transport was available on this busy week morning. Missed the flight. Claimed and received a cancellation from Mondial.

It's hard to imagine (but its's true) that buying a policy (for a car hire for holidays) took one and a half month. When I came home from holidays I got a an information from Mondial Assistance that actually I didn't have any policy although I paid for it and got appropriate papers. So I was driving with non insured car and learned about it after came home. If I didn't see that I wouldn't believe in it.

Waste Of Time-car Rental Company Doubles Your Excess
car insurance-Thank god i havent had to make a claim reading these reviews but to be honest i have never got that far as i have clicked the ok button for this car insurance 3 times. BUT each time upon arrival at the car rental desk and they offer me their insuranceas as usual, when i say 'oh no thank you i have insurance with MONDIAL' then suddenly the amount the carrental company 'takes' off my card for accidents etc...goes from £250 to £1000!! Even though isay im covered and i dont have to pay excess they say they will still need the funds put aside initially and then i clain whatever i incurat a later date , mondial is nothing to o with them or their procedures. for me I never have that amount (£1000) on my card plus my estimated personal expences for the trip so i am always forced to take out the car rentals insurance. Luckily though i have to say i have been able to cancel mondial's insurance there and then for the reason above. with out too much hassle so in my opinion unless you have a lot of money on your credit card to allow £1000 to be side lined then i wouldnt bother with these guys.

Terrible Company - Do Not Use
I wish I would have read these reviews here before booking an insurance with these guys. The story is simple: I rented a car a month ago with a website CarTrawler (that are also terrible) and had I opted in for extra insurance. As the car that CarTrawler confirmed for me one day prior arriving to destination did not match my requirements, I canceled the car hire and insurance. The problem is that the insurance was charged to my card and wasn't refunded. For two weeks now I am trying to get in contact with these guys but I have no success as no one answers.
This is terrible, and if their support is like that with other customers too, I find it really disappointing and would never recommend anyone to buy services from this company!

Dont Waste Your Money On Their Policy
Steer clear of this lot, the only thing they are proficient at is taking your money and making you jump through numerous hoops which feel like a method of peeing you off so that you give up. The idea of taking out additional vehicle insurance was to get additional cover above that of the rental company, in reality I would have been as well saving the money as they did nothing for me and claimed the reason was that the rental company didnt cover tyres, wheels or just about anything related to a vehicle.

They Are Terrible
Took out hire car insurance with then, had a small prang and they refused to pay out because the place where i hired the car from was with 150ks of my address. They should have known this when i took the insurance out.
