Definitely Recommend!
I was recommended go travel by a friend, I recently went away and had my passport and money stolen at Alicante airport on a Saturday, I had to pay out £100 for an emergency passport to be able to travel home and then £85 for a new passport once I got home, I contacted go travel on the Monday whilst I was still in Spain to log a claim I was told to contact them when I arrived back home, I contacted go travel once I was home on the weds, I was emailed a claim form which I received on the Thursday and sent off all the requested information by email the next day, I received a confirmation email my claim was accepted the following Tuesday and money in the bank by Friday, the staff were excellent, claim form was easy and never expected I would receive payment within 9 days. Definitely would use again,
Do Not Use Go Travel Insurance
Had more than enough paper evidence re recent flight delays/delayed baggage etc but was obvious GO TRAVEL just wanted to put more barriers in the way to make a claim. In the end I decided it wasn't worth the hassle and cancelled my policy with them. Of course, they do not give any refund for the remainder of the annual policy that was not used.
No Integrity. Shonky company.
I agree the real value of a travel insurance company is how they respond to claims and the ease with which they deal with them and how reasonable they are in the process - not putting endless jumps and hurdles in the way. Need a review site that focuses only on how they deal with claims - which travel insurance is consistently the best at dealing with claims and providing true customer service.

Delay After Delay - And Dickensian Paperwork
Direct Group (which handles claims for Go Travel) try to wear you down with delays and Dickensian paperwork. A simple (and only) claim for a broken camera while trekking in the Himalayas has taken months. I spoke to an operative for 30 minutes on an 0844 line -- then she said she would send me a form -- which didn't arrive. So I had to call again. I couldn't believe the form when it arrived!
They required the flight schedule and invoice from the trekking company, original receipt and more -- including a report to the police or holiday rep! The camera wasn't stolen, ffs -- and the nearest thing to a rep was a Nepalese guide, ffs. So I had to phone again to explain why I hadn't reported it.
Today I received a cheque for £29.70 -- 70% having been taken off for "wear and tear", despite the fact that cameras are listed as valuables, rather than personal effects. If I hadn't paid to have the excess waiver removed, I wouldn't have received a penny.
This is in stark contrast to my home insurer, Halifax, which dealt sympathetically and very efficiently with a claim for a snatched handbag and contents -- and happily called me back to save my phone bill. I didn't have to fill in any forms at all -- just supply scans of receipts for anything under two years old (excluding make-up, which I just had to list and give a replacement value for).
Flawed Website
You have to get your policy document from a website which consists of broken links. Be prepared to hours on the phone to sort out the problems. It is a huge mistake using them.

Travelled to Thailand , where my 1 year old son , caught pneumonia .
He spent a week in hospital . Many costs were incurred
So I emailed go insure to let them know what was happening
I was told to claim when I got back to the uk .
My son is now 3 and we still can't get a penny ,
Go insure are a total waste of time , and money grabbing bathplugs

Good Service With My Claim
We were about to go on holiday to Rhodes this summer but my son was admitted to hospital the day before with suspected appendicitis. He was kept in over night and we had to miss our flights. I was dreading the insurance claim but the people who administer the claim were very helpful and one I had submitted the required documents the cheque arrived 7 days later. The only thing I wish is I had ticked the option to have a lower excess as it was £100 per person. Overall good service:)

No Problems - Maybe I Was Just Lucky!!
I bought Worldwide travel insurance from GO and then decided to cancel and buy European cover at a later date. I had no problem - the original amount was credited to my account within 5 days and on receipt I purchased the European cover with them. The lady I spoke to on the phone was polite and helpful.
My only gripe is that they only do Annual cover up to age 49 now instead of 64 as previously and the company they recommend is very expensive. For this reason alone I will be taking my cover out with a different company.

Stealing Money From My Bank Account
I was sent a letter in November stating Go Travel Insurance would be renewing my Annual Travel insurance. I called straight away to inform them I did NOT want to renew.
On 6th January 2012, 2 amounts were removed from by bank account.
I called to explain this and 1 amount was subsequently replaced.
Since then, I have kept calling Go Travel Insurance to try to get the other amount refunded, only to keep being told it takes time.
Today, I have called to be told there has only ever been 1 amount removed, and subsequently replaced. It clearly states on my bank account 2 amounts have been removed and 1 replaced.
I have now had to go to the trouble of sending my bank statement to head office to try and get the second amount refunded, which is how things stand at the moment
I have used Go Travel Insurance many times, fortunately I have never had to claim, but will never use them again. I must have made 6 calls, to try to get this resolved, adding injury to the fact I called straight away to say I DIDN’T WANT TO RENEW THE INSURANCE.
I completely disagree with this practice of companies removing money from bank accounts without permission which is why I refused to renew the policy. I believe these companies do it knowing that many people don't check their bank accounts and will not notice the money is missing.

This Company Should Not Be Able To Trade. In My Op
This company should not be able to trade. In my opinion your policy now reads that if if there is a deision by the government, the aviation or any local council you policy is not valis this means volcanic ash, bad weather or strikes. So you are giving them money for nothing.
Do not use them.
Underwritten by AXA!!!
Avoid anything that bears the name of Axa AT ALL COSTS!!!
