When providing payment details there's no indication of any 'extras', it clearly states £25 (okay £24.99) which I naively assumed would be the price I would be charged. Once the policy was emailed I discovered the price had risen by twenty percent (£4 for making an online application, and £1 for receiving a SMS). Their FAQ admits there are extra charges for 'optional' extras, however when I went back through the purchase process to check I discovered there's no way avoid these extras. This sort of underhand dealing leaves a bad taste in my mouth and makes me suspicious of the company! I assume they engage in these tactics to push them up in the rankings on price comparison websites.
