Academy Travel Insurance

Money grabbers and a slap together give it a go poo whole not even company......take the Mickey they say they send all letter recorded but don't..send massage to you via tex and it's on Saturdays when they r shut...wtf....what insurance company close Saturdays and only open Monday -Friday 9 -530 but don't answer phone till 930. Stay the hell away...be on ur head if u go with them...dog Shiite company...

Im a 23 year old male with 1 years driving experience and got a good offer on a BMW 520 however due to age and driving experience many other insurers would either refuse to quote or offer a hugely expensive policy. After stumbling across a online form for a quote from Academy i filled it out and within 10 minutes i received a phone call and they went through my details and offered me a quote that was £600 less then my next best offer at £1200 for a year fully comp that is alot less then any other insurer would insure me on a "sensible" young drivers car and they also offered a 0% interest payment plan of 6 monthly payments for the year that also adds to the great value.

Insurance was up for renewal . after phoning 8 times for renewal quote . and 5 days before policy ends , still no quote . Only response every time i phoned was " leave it to us , we will call you back!" . I have now asked for proof on NCB .. I have now gone over to another Company . Stay clear of these cowboys . YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!

Although this company were not the cheapest I decided to use them as they are an old fashioned broker and I could ring and speak to the same person each time with no call centres and press one for this 2 for this etc etc . I had done this after having had horresndous experience trying to contact my previous internet insurer and am Glad I did as my claim was handled without problem and I was kept informed what was happening during the process. The same person also was available to deal with my change car necessitated by the accident and I have now also subsequently arranged my home insurance with the same person.
