Pushy Pushy Pushy
I have a life insurance policy with Aviva - through Best Deal insurance, acting as my financial advisor. I was really happy with Best Deal until they cold called me recently.
It started off pleasant enough - I was told that after changes in legislation, I needed to review my policy. Again, fair enough.
I explained From the start that I was happy with the level of cover and the monthly premium I was paying, but the advisor kept on and on trying to sell me a policy for nearly three times the price of my existing deal.
Despite me repeatedly telling him I was happy, he wouldn't stop pushing and pushing the higher priced policy, despite the fact it was far more insurance than I needed.
I realised he wasn't interested in what I wanted or needed, but was merely interested in a sales target.
I have removed Best Deal as my financial advisor on my policy and will be dealing directly with the insurance company. Something that costs me no more money and turns out to be far better for me and easier too.

By any chance did this call come just after you've had your policy for 2 years? I had exactly the same type of call from them citing "a recent change in legislation" as a reason to review my policy. Very pushy and not at all what I signed up for. I spoke to a financial adviser friend of mine who said that they were actively trying to re-sell the policy as if I'd have cancelled in the first 2 years, they would have had to pay back some of the commission they had earned for setting up the policy. He also said that there hasn't been any changes in legislation that meant my policy needed to be reviewed! I've cancelled my direct debit this morning and gone direct like you. Anyone considering using them should be warned to proceed with caution.

Spoke to one of the young chaps on the home insurance department and within about half an hour they sorted my policy out and I felt so comfortable speaking to him about, A lot better then these other companies who are so brain washed to even have a conversation with you (robots) I recommend BestDeal insurance all day long for top quality polices and a decent conversation to

Love this broker or firm or what ever it is you call them lol.. they've set up my home and life insurance, made a couple of claims and been nothing but helpful.
only issue Ive had is the last claim i tried to make was denied but that was my own fault cause i chose not to be covered for it.
