Slow, Unresponsive, Shambles
made a claim for damaged flooring, cause unknown. Had to continually chase, eventually they rejected claim after sending round a surveyor who made a cursory review of the floor.

Had a car stolen which was insured with Amlin and I have to say they are very difficult to deal with at an already stressful time.
Time taken to inspect the vehicle......3 days
No of days to then report on findings 4 days
I have had to ring the engineers to find out it was a total loss as they didn't even have the report back after 4 days.
Worst points are
Lack of communication if I don't ring them they would never contact me
Time taken to carry out any tasks.....is way to long!!
At a time when you need quick answers they drag their heels.....I feel like they are taking the pee

Amlin Insurance - Complete And Utter Rip Off
we insured our flat and contents with Amlin Insurance plc. we had a couple of items of jewellery and a watch named on the policy. i had the watch stolen from my pocket and they are refusing to pay up under some minor technical interpretation of the policy. They are saying the item is only covered if i am mugged or the item is stolen from bank safe! i paid a lot of money for the annual policy and now they are trying to wriggle out of the obligations. this is typical insurers trying to hide behind the small print - disgraceful. i am fighting them to get the value fo my watch repaid to me. will keep posting.
Don't touch Intasure and certainly don't touch Amlin! Both are connected and don't pay out! Customer service is non existant and you will be passed from person to person before they find a stupid reason to reject your claim!
I would not recommend anyone to use this company. We had a break in at our ground floor holiday apartment where damage was done and minor things stolen. Amlin have dragged this on for nearly a year and even had us fullyinvestigated The claim was for 5000 euros much of which was for a new patio door and it's surroundings. The claim has not been paid.
We have put in formal complaints but got nowhere. We have now put our case to Lloyds to investigate. They came back stating that they uphold Amlin as a decent company although they admit not seeing any of our papers. We are now going to the Financial Standards Authority. Anyone thinking of Amlin or their brokers Intasure think again. A terrible company to deal with.
We have now resolved our dispute with amlin satisafactorily and they have been fair in the final resolution of our complaint
