I went for a PAYG SIM to put in my existing phone, as I only make a few voice calls with the occasional text - no internet use. 10p for a 60 minute call takes some beating! SIM arrived by post in 2 days, old number was ported with my PAC code in another 2 days, and all now up and working with initial top up. Customer service agents were universally polite, cheerful and knowledgeable, with no delays in answering the phone. What more could you ask for?
