If you are unfortunate enough to make a claim, be sure that Amtrust EU will us every trick they can think of to deny your claim. I had cover for malicious and accidental cover. I filed a claim for malicious damage. Amtrust sent their adjuster from a company called Sedgwick to assess the claim. She looked at all the damage to the property and said this is all accidental and you are not covered for accidental damage. I got worried that I might have not included accidental damage. After she left I phoned my broker and sure enough I did have cover for accidental damage. I later (foolishly) phoned her and told her that I did indeed have cover. After checking if I did, she then changed her report to say that the damage was not malicious or accidental, but fair wear and tear. There were digs to the wooden flooring, all the blinds had been broken, doors smashed, locks broken, shelves and fixtures ripped of walls holes in walls, burns to carpets, electrical sockets smashed, the list goes on and on. Amtrust are saying that all that damage is normal wear and tear I resulting within a few months. I should have kept quite and let the Loss adjuster send her report that she said it was all accidental damage instead of alerting her to the fact that I had cover. Do not waste your money insuring with Amtrust EU, check with your broker who the underwriters are before you buy. You will regret insuring with Amtrust EU, and if your insurer send Sedgwick loss Adjusters ask for another Loss adjuster, the other might just be honest.
