I love my phone but sometimes when i have a emergency and i have no signal so i have to go to a smelly pay phone but in all i think phones are cool :)

If you are looking up phone reviews you are doing it because you care about value. Nextel charges a premium price for a far less than premium product and service. I am currently trying to drop my plan even though I am on an extremely discounted friends and family plan. The coverage area is bad where I live now, and even where coverage is good I get dropped calls and poor call quality (I have to say what and repeat myself a lot). I attempted to upgrade phones in May 2007 where they cancelled my order and showed it as shipped. After spending over 50 hours talking to customer service, they resolved to reship the phone and refund me for the previous phone (send me the same phone and not charge me anything even for the last one for my trouble). They are now charging me for 2 phones and I have never received one. They have the order as being cancelled with no shipping information but it is now September 2007 and the paperwork for Nextel to reimburse my account is still going through. This is very troubling because now I have to deal with their painfully terrible service until they decide to credit my account so that I can have my number ported over to a decent service provider. Sorry for making you read so much but hopefully this review will help you save time and headaches by not choosing Nextel as your service provider.

I anyone wants NEXTEL, you need to get very patient first and understand that you're paying a company to do nothing for you.

The only positive thing that I can say about Nextel is their walkie talkie/Direct Connect service is good - when you can get a signal. I live in New York - major area - and often I cannot get a signal. When I visit my friend in South Carolina - no service (she's near Myrtle Beach - so not the farm land).

I unfortunately switched to Nextel to be on the same network with someone - worst mistake I ever made. Can't wait until my contract is up to switch back.

All in all - if you're in a blue collar industry where you need to communicate with people on the job (i.e. truck driver, construction), get the phone. But keep your other network as well.
