Faulty Parts, Terrible Customer Care
I had this boiler installed four years ago, since when there have been three burst hoses (the same one twice), replaced by our heating engineer. Last time the water damage blew the electrical circuitry. I have tried contacting Vaillant who have not responded to emails. I understand that the rubber original hoses are now no longer supplied by Vaillant - instead a very expensive copper pipe part - they clearly recognise the fault but will not acknowledge this.
The rubber pipes were changed due to the chemical reaction taking place due to lack off, or incorrect dossing of chemical inhibitor causing them to leak, to copper pipes. This is part to continued product development to ensure improvements to ensure a reduction in mechanical failures.
The latest copper pipes have been available since about 2009, and have fitted to all current boilers.
VAILLANT A CON! APPALLINGLY BAD SERVICE!
I agree that vailant are expensive and offer appalling customer care. They made us pay up-front (full amount) for a service call on 16 Dec 2012, came without parts and did not return until 16 January 2013. We are a restaurant and their failure to do what we had paid for for over 3 weeks previously almost cost us our business. I would never ever deal with them again.
When I tried to complain they were extremely rude and unhelpful despite the fact that we had a legitimate issue.
They also appear to be ignoring emails.
Haven't had the burst rubber connectors problem, but did have lots of pressure problems with this boiler also after four years.
My heating engineer tells me the rubber hoses are indeed no longer supplied and that a Grundfoss pump is now used rather than a generic Vaillant pump.
Otherwise this boiler ran very reliably the first four years.
