The Worst Product From The Worst Company

I moved into a 2 year old house with a Keston system installed in 2012. Every single year without fail, the boiler has failed catastrophically at least once, usually at the worst possible time. It has been replaced under warranty once when the internal systems failed, resulting in it pouring caustic liquid into itself and destroying itself from the inside out. Keston themselves consistently range from unhelpful to downright rude and obnoxious.

Everyone I speak to won't touch anything Keston with a barge pole, I went through the top 40 plumbers and heating engineers on Check-a-trade, not one of them would help. Keston themselves charge a basic rate of £275 for engineer callouts, and couldn't respond quickly, even when I raised concerns about the safety of the unit.

British Gas won't cover it, so if you install one of these, don't expect to be able to get a British Gas service contract. British Gas also alerted me to the fact that Keston regularly 'discontinue' key products in a very short time. A fact supported by the Keston website, the only such website I've ever come across that openly lists discontinued products as a primary point on the landing page of their website.

I will certainly be saving up to get into a position to rip this pile of rubbish out of my house and fit a boiler from a manufacturer with a good reputation and ethical values as soon as I possibly can.

With all honesty, I would be remiss if I didn't recommend, for the good of your health, wealth and well-being, you steer as far clear of Keston as you possibly can.

Utterly Unreliable

Never again will I buy Keston. Had this hunk of junk for 6 yrs, I fill it with water every other day. Must have had 30 + keystone engineer visits, must have cost them a fortune, I only paid once. The product us just unfit for purpose, every key part on it has been replaced several times and they're foolish not to have swapped it for something that works.

Don't Ever Buy One Of These

We had a Keston Q28s boiler installed about 4 years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. We have had loads of different people come to try and fix it and had the majority of the internal parts replaced at one point or another.

It constantly breaks down with a range of error messages and costs a fortune to service and repair. We had it working once for about a year without failure but the week after it was serviced it started to fail again........pressure too high, pressure too low, fan fault, flow overheat, sensor failures etc etc. I think we have just had about a full house of the available error messages in the manual.

The fact that the manual has to include a list of error codes from E01 to E96 is evidence enough that this boiler is complete cack.

We've just spent over £400 on a service, repairs, spare parts and it failed again last night. It is time to cut our losses, rip the thing out and smash it pieces and replace it with a Worcester or Vailliant ny the sounds of things. Keston need to go out of business as they are crooks selling junk like this to line their pockets with spares sales and engineer call out costs.

Worst Boiler, Worst Company!

This has got to be the worst boiler I've ever had, and Keston's "customer service" is without a doubt the worst I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

The Q28S was installed in my house when it was built, I'm the second owner of the house, and only been there <2 months, in that time, I've had constant problems with both the boiler and the Keston supplied heat pump. Neither of which are satisfactorily resolved at the time of writing.

The boiler, less than 2 years old, and thankfully still under warranty, was condemned as dangerous by a British Gas engineer. The exhaust flue had been leaking internally and caused massive damage to the boiler (and by the BG engineers estimation, leaving it dangerous, he cut the gas supply off). Thankfully, Keston agreed to replace the boiler under warranty. Unfortunately, that's when the real trouble started. It's been leaking ever since. And, more importantly, leaking internally (as well as externally) in the same way as the original one.

This is clearly a defective product, and Keston will do everything in their power to defer blame. I've had 4 engineers visits, including the warranty replacement, and still they've been completely unable to resolve the problem.

My warranty runs out soon on this, and I fear for what is coming in the next few months!

Do yourself a favour, avoid the Keston Q28S like the plague, and moreover, avoid Keston in general, unless you're in your element spending hours on the phone over a prolonged period (6 weeks and counting), trying to resolve a problem that Keston will fight tooth and nail to deny.

Keston Q28s

I have had this boiler for three years now damn thing has required servicing and parts on a regular basis , fed up with the error codes E67 and E24 , fed up with having to go up into the loft to keep putting water into the system so the stupid thing will work , I now know what the Q and the S stand for _uite _hit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dont bother with this boiler unless you like being cold and broke choose something else I am going to.

And if anyone from Keston bothers to read these reviews do something about this as this apparently is a feature of your boilers to require constant fiddling with its not an attractive feature at all !!!
