Glowworm Ultracom HXI Condensing Boiler

We, unfortunately, inherited this product in our brand new house because the builder was a cheapskate. The two year guarantee was on condition that the boiler was serviced by a corgi registered plumber and the warranty completed. 12 days before the warranty expired the system packed up. This is December and we live in the Scottish Highlands. The boiler is rusted inside and the igniter has broken off. Glow worm nulled our warranty immediately because we did not use their people.

Second rate product and second rate service.

Be sensible, pay for a bit more for a quality worcester bosch.

No point throwing good money after bad, we're replacing the boiler.

It sits on the wall in the garage and heats the house and the water, efficiently and fast. There is no heat wasted up the flue or into the garage. It reheats the water in the tank after a shower or a bath in the time it takes for the person to has leave the bathroom afterwards. It heats the house each morning when it is -5 outside to +20 in under 90 minutes.

I fitted myself and it could not have been easier. Drilling the hole in the wall for the flue was the most difficult part. I could even lift it onto its wall bracket unaided. I had to get a crane in to take down the old one.

One point could have been mentioned in the instuctions - the controls have a built-in delay which makes it appear not to work when first switched on. I could have had it all operational a day earlier if I had known.
