Ferroli Domi Compact F 24 B - Fire Hazard!!!!
We had our boiler fitted in Feb 2009. Had a problem with hot water supply whilst still under guarantee Ferroli engineer came out no charge - no problem.
Now the boiler is just over 3 years old out of warranty and needs replacing!!!!
The heat exchanger has melted and could have caused a serious fire.
Fortunately we had called the gas safe engineer out for a routine service - as there was no apparent problem with the boiler we could have continued to use it with disastrous, perhaps fatal, results!
The engineer rang Ferolli and was told that the boiler was out of guarantee. When the engineer pointed out that the emergency cut offs had obviously failed for the heat exchanger to melt Ferolli restated that the boiler was out of guarantee.
We are now faced with the cost of a new boiler but rather that than a house fire!
