Our boiler has been in 3 years & has not missed a blink, I'm a gas engineer & have had the previous generation of this boiler & that went 9 years before a major component failure, it lasted 15 years in the end. They are excellent boilers the only faults are usually caused by poor installation ( flushing, dirty systems, no scale protection ) & Baxi are really good with their after sales service

10 Year Guarantee Swayed Me.
We had our previous Ferroli boiler for 14 years and had been well satisfied with it. The annual cost of breakdown insurance and Mtce was approaching £200 per year. For £1800 we could get this "Baxi Combi Gas Boiler Platinum 33 HE A" boiler installed and covered for breakdowns for 10 years, the only cost is the annual service. The Baxi was installed last July 2015.
The Ferroli was nearing the end of it's life and the Baxi should be far more efficient as well being a condensing boiler.
Shortly after installing we became aware that every time a cold water tap was opened and closed, or a toilet flushed the boiler fired up then shut down immediately. The installer promised to look into it but suggested nothing. I contacted Baxi helpline and they told that this could happen to homes that had water meters fitted, we have. They drew my attention to a paragraph in the installation guide that drew attention to this problem. To cure it, it required an expansion vessel and one way valve fitted in the cold water supply pipe to the boiler. I told the installer of this and still heard nothing. Eventually I told him not to bother and did it myself. It now works great.
My only gripe is the fiddly switch you have to use if you want to override the time clock. The Ferroli boiler had a digital timer that included a push button to switch off, until the next timed on, or off until the next timed on. The Baxi has a mechanical time clock. If the boiler is off and you override the clock to switch it on, it will stay on forever unless you switch it to timer or off. Conversely, if you switch it to off it will not come back on unless you operate the manual switch. Also, it's fiddly switch to do this. You have to use a finger nail or a small tool of some sort. As I said earlier the Ferroli boiler was 14 years old but it's digital time clock was far better then the mechanical time clock fitted to this much newer Baxi.
I would recommend this boiler but not the installer.

Well Designed Bolier
The boiler looks stylish has easy to use controls.
I have a 4 bedroom detached home with 12 radiators and this boiler adequately heats both the house and gives hot water on demand.
It took me quite a while to decide which boiler to go for . I looked at Worcester and the Vaillant range but it was the 10 year guarantee that got the deal for the Baxi.
Also my installer recommended this boiler.
I have had no issues since the boiler was installed so if you are thinking of buying one go for it. The manufacturer has included the 10 year guarantee (as long as it is installed by a Baxi approved installer) So you have peace of mind.
Waste Of Money
This boiler is a incredibly poor product. We have had the boiler for 5 years and each year the boiler has broken down , required replacement parts and involved discussions with the manufacturers. The support from Baxi has been incredibly poor unlike our plumber.

Excellent Boiler, No Problems
I decided to write this review because 18 months ago when I was researching a new boiler all I could find were bad reviews on any boiler I considered. I eventually chose the Baxi Platinum 33HE, it has now been in 18 months and I have had no problems whatsoever. My parents have also fitted the Baxi Platinum 40HE and have had no problems either. I used a plumber who was recommended to me so I knew it would fitted properly and so hopefully I won't have to use the 5 year warranty!

I Have Now Had This Boiler For Five Years. It Star
I have now had this boiler for five years. It started to go wrong after 12 months and has had two new pumps and a new ignition so far!! It is currently cutting out when you run the hot water. This boiler was new to the market when we bought it and I would recommend you to avoid it. It came with a five year warranty which has now been reduced, so the last engineer tells me. Probably because it goes wrong so often!!
