I Have Recently Had One Of These Combi Boilers Fi
I have recently had one of these combi boilers fitted on the recommendation of my installer when the actual boiler I wanted put the job out of my price range. My house has excellent cold water pressure which this 'top of the range' boiler struggles to cope with in respect of bath and shower hot water. You have to first turn the water on full then back it right off until the water runs hot which can take quite a while, consequently the bath takes ages to fill and in respect of the shower you find that annoyingly you have to frequently keep readjusting the valve as the water alternates between running too hot or too cool. Any gas saving I may be gaining with this boiler I feel will be lost with the cost of the extra water being used. Having had a 7 day electronic timer on the old boiler the 24 hour manual timer on this one is nothing short of archaic being just like a timer plug and will will be difficult to use by people with poor eyesight or arthritic fingers. All in all very disappointing and other than having hot water 'on tap' of no improvement on the boiler it replaced
If you are having problems with the hot water and your mains inlet pressure is as good as you say it may be passing through the heat exchanger too quickley you may not under stand how a combi boiler works . water is heated as it passes through the secondary heat exchanger you should check you only have about 15-16ltr per min at your hot water tap any more than that and the water pressure is to much for the boiler to heat to a temperature you would like that is why you have to throttle down the tap . I have had my boiler in for 6mts now and it is fantastic 15lts of red hot water and for the timer they are so simple to use that is easier for us installers to explain to the general public how to use some people cannot understand the digital timers and like things simple ariston do a very cleaver boiler called the genus but most of the generall public cannot understand it .
yours faithfully
