Carcaptain have delayed payment to their Instructors on a regular basis, and owe an Instructor for 31 lessons completed before the lockdown, and still haven't paid. Another Instructor is owed for 100 lessons completed before the lockdown, and still haven't paid them; disgusting. This created much hardship during the lockdown itself, and with no communication from them from the beginning of lockdown to the end of July, and then demanded the full car payments for the entire lockdown period, amounting to nearly £3000.00, when Instructors were not allowed to work.

Steer clear of this company, and go with them at your peril.

Carcaptain are an excellent company. From my initial conversation with a sales team member in the office to meeting my instructor. I was advised on what package I should get and I got a real family feel for their business and care about their customers, not some of these big call centre type places I've had to deal with in the past.

My instructor was truly wonderful - calm, always professional, friendly and supportive. I had no confidence at all when I met him and had been through many instructors in the past (around 15 years!) and with just 20 hours with him I passed my test first time. I'm so glad I met him as I could not have done it without him.

Hadn't driven for 2 years but had 20 hours of previous experience, did a 15 hour intensive one week course with Sahyed, who really got my confidence back, and passed after 5 days of driving! I had never done manoeuvres before or any of the technicalities, but Shayed made me grasp them quickly and I always felt calm during my lessons with him- couldn't recommend him more! thanks!!!! I contacted Carcaptain because I wanted to do an intensive driving course. I had a set amount of time to allocate to lessons and I needed to make sure I passed first time. I had driving lessons many years ago with the AA and it knocked my confidence and put me off buying more lessons or trying again with a different company.

I spoke to Carcaptain and voiced all of my concerns and from the very beginning they did all they could to incorporate everything I would need in the timeframe I had. The instructor that was recommended was not only knowledgeable and professional, but really pushed me to achieve my potential without being patronising or making me feel frustrated. After all, the best teachers are able to teach in different styles and tailor the learning method to the student.

I passed my test the first time after having learnt to drive with Carcaptain and couldn't recommend them more highly. I intend to recommend them to friends and colleagues who have yet to pass as I believe their lessons not only to be of good quality but at reasonable prices too.

This was the worst experience of my life. Awful company that do not care for the customer's concerns. The manager was extremely rude, gave me misleading information throughout our contact. I signed up for intensive and they gave me an instructor who could only do two hours a day - not what I paid for. He would shout and make me feel stupid. When I had to cancel my course due to the disorganisation by the company and the awful service they still have not refunded me nor apologised for wasting my time and money. Stay away from this company.

I booked 11 intensive lessons with carcaptain, my lessons was to start from the 21st of March until the 25th. I had booked a week off work so that I can do the driving. On the first day of the driving lesson the instructor called and said that he thought that my lesson was meant to start the day after. The next next he called to cancelled because he had lots of tests booked, and could not make it. On the 3rd day he called and said that he could not carry on with the lessons because I lived in the congestion charging zone.

I spoke to the office manager he tried to pursued me to carry on with the lessons on the Wednesday, although she could not guarantee that an instructor will be available to carry out the lessons consecutively as agreed.

She refused to refund my money back to me and sad that her company has a 30 day cancellation. When their terms and conditions state that there is a 2 day cancellation policy.

She did not apologise for time wasted on the call, instead stated that it was a waste of time and hang up. I have reported this incident to the office of fair trading as I believe I should be given my money back to go else where.

I would not recommend this company to anyone and regret signing up with them.

car captain are an excellent driving school. got me up to speed for my test in weeks. really helpful team found me a test exceptionally fast. overall excellent service, friendly team and people who go above and beyond what is required - 3 hour and longer lessons. 7 am lessons, nothing is too much for them. I can't stress enough what a wonderful team this is and would recccomend 100 percent.

I was a really nervous driver and at over 30 I'd almost given up. I never thought I'd pass my test, but I needed to for my job so did lots of research and came across Car Captain. Right from my first conversation with the person I dealt with I knew he'd get me through. I did a Guaranteed Pass course and really think it is absolutely the best way forward - it takes the stress out of weekly lessons and just 'gets the job done'. I never imagined I would pass first time but I did, and therefore got money back from Car Captain making it very cost-effective. Car Captain have a fixed end-game from the start and with the online tutorials it is really well structured to not only get you through your test, but more importantly make you a safe and responsible driver. Big thanks to the person I dealt with and the team!

After screaming and shouting in the car on first lesson whilst rolling cigarettes then proceeding to smoke them, my instructor stopped showing up because of wife dramas. So when I had to cancel they wouldn't give my money back complete waist of time. Miserable experience.
