Perfect Build
Ever since I acquired my Kindle, it has become my constant companion, accompanying me wherever I go. Its lightweight design makes it incredibly comfortable to hold, even during lengthy reading sessions in bed—a pleasant surprise considering its weightlessness. While I initially found the 5-way button controller to be somewhat cumbersome, I've grown accustomed to its operation over time.
I appreciate the thoughtful placement of the page-turning buttons on both the left and right sides, eliminating the risk of accidentally pressing them while holding the device. This design feature enhances the overall ergonomic experience. Without hesitation, I find myself enthusiastically recommending the Kindle to fellow book enthusiasts.

I Love My Kindle!
I've owned my kindle for approximately 5 months now and it make reading so much easier. I take my Kindle everywhere! I travel a lot so it keeps me entertained on long flights as well as allowing me to take over 1,000 books on my travels without having to pay hefty excess baggage charges!
I love to read but i felt like i was starting to read less and less with my work schedule. Since i got my kindle my reading levels have been topped back up and I'm flying through the books! The Amazon website that is accessible via the kindle to download books is very competitively priced in regards to purchasing an ebook over a hard back/softback and even many other ebook stores.
The built in wifi allows you to download your books whenever you're connected. It downloads updates and keeps everything running smoothly.
Pro's
- Small and light
- Fairly priced
- Great battery life, even in standby mode
- Solid, light weight metal that will survive a tumble and general wear and tare
- Download books directly from Amazon over the air to your Kindle device
- Customise the fonts on the device (Font, size and spacing)
- Quick page turn and screen refresh
- Cool covers to choose from to protect your device and keep it scratch free
- Built in word descriptions (click a word to find out what it means)
- Displays pictures within the books just like a hard copy
Con's
- Only a couple of colours to choose from
- Slow to navigate around the device (but still quicker than its competitors in the same spec)
- No screen light (you can however pay a little more for the device with the light)
- Only a handful of font's to choose from
I'd certainly recommend this kindle to anyone. I LOVE mine - it puts the fun back into reading and has generally got me reading again!

Very Reliable Device
A very useful device for people travelling around. It can store many books, and the screen is specially handled that, it does not hurt the eyes. It is even better if the price could go down a little.

Could Be Better
Maybe it's because I am so used to touch-screen devices that I am slightly disappointed with my Kindle. I was advised by the guy in Best Buy that people like this one just fine but I really regret not paying the extra for the touch or the fire.

Great Device.
I am very pleased with my Kindle 4. The screen is very nice and I can read my books on it very easily. I think that the price I paid for this device was very reasonable and I would highly recommend the amazon Kindle 4 to anyone else looking for an e-reading device.

Kindle Swindle!
I was very happy with my Kindle until I went to use it recently, only to find the bottom third of the screen was no longer working, displaying only solid white with a few unhealthy looking black lines. No amount of resetting could revive the screen: my Kindle was inexplicably dead. I was perplexed; the device had been kept in a protective case in a drawer, and had last been used about a month earlier with no problems.
Anyway, I contacted Amazon customer support, only to be told that my 1 year warranty had expired 20 days previously and therefore I could not exchange the device. I asked about paying for a repair, but was told that Amazon do not offer repairs on Kindles....hmm, obviously it would cost them too much - itself a rather damning inditement of their device's build quality..... My only option was to buy a brand new Kindle Touch at the discounted price of £67.99. I explained that this was hardy a fair deal as I had no interest in the touch version so I would effectively be forced to buy a new Kindle to replace a clearly faulty device. I then asked how much Amazon would discount the basic Kindle (£69) and was asked to hold while the customer service rep enquired about this. After waiting about 10 mins for a reply, my chat window was mysteriously disconnected and I later received an email saying that we had 'somehow' lost connection and repeating that my only option was to purchase a new Kindle Touch at £67.99....
Obviously I am furious about this - my kindle died either due to freak misfortune or (more likely) shoddy build quality and QA, and I feel I have been thoroughly ripped off. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing another Kindle and I would advise other shoppers to buy e-reader products with a better build quality, such as iPad, even though they cost more initially. After all, anything is better than feeling you have been conned......Buyer beware!

This Kindle Rocks. I Read A Lot Of Pdfs Which Are
This Kindle rocks. I read a lot of PDFs which are really hard to read on a computer screen. I just send them to my kindle. Reads like a book. I don't recommend the touch screen because you can't really read PDFs on them. This Kindle is much sturdier than the last. Highly recommended.
