Kelvin the Crab - what a great toy for a baby! I was really pleased to be able to find a gift that I knew no one else would be giving! I like to give baby gifts that are a bit different to your standard highstreet fare, and none of areafive's products are standard, they are gorgeous. I have bought other toys and toiletries from the site in the past and I was really pleased with those too. Admittedly it's not cheap, but equally their stuff isn't over priced and they do often have offers. Plus, who wants to buy cheap for their baby?

My daughter adores puzzles. At 19 months old, she is doing pretty well when it comes to wooden jigsaws and has worn out the ones she has, the amount of times she pulls them out of her toy box.

The George Luck Puzzle by Area Five has lovely bright vivid colours of 6 farmyard animals. I love the attention to detail, and the absence of fiddly bits, such as the tails. Instead of being part of the puzzle piece, these bits are painted onto the board, which I think is fab, as it makes it easier for toddlers to use.

The only down side I found to this puzzle, is the fiddly-ness of the pieces when it comes to getting them out of their slots. They aren't the easiest things to remove once in, especially for teeny fingers. I would say it's a more advanced puzzle than some you find on the market, but that also means it will last longer and help my daughters development for a lengthier time. The pieces don't have an pegs to help the placement of them either, something I normally look for in a wooden puzzle.

Overall, I think the jigsaw is awesome. My daughter loves it and it's forever out of her toy box being played with. Something that can't be said for half of her toys she's lost interest in, so that has to be a good sign!

Since having the puzzle, I've taken more of a look at their products on the website, and I have fallen in love with a lot of them - I'll definitely be buying from these guys again in the future!

A very well laid-out website selling really good quality products. I bought two toys for my niece and I was delighted with both of them when they arrived. They were very well packaged and they arrived in perfect condition. Upon placing my order, Area Five sent me a friendly message to let me know when to expect my deliveries - a Monday and both in fact arrived the Friday before that, which was great!

Excellent customer service with helpful advice by friendly in-store staff. The guitar is a treasure to my two-year-old. Good value for money. The store in Buckfastleigh is brimming with wonderful gift ideas for children, which suit a variety of budgets. Thank you.

I've been shopping online at Area Five since it started and have been very impressed with both the products and the excellent customer service. The website is very easy to use and gives some very good suggestions for children of all ages. The quality of all the toys is excellent and items arrive very quickly. I have also now visited the shop in Buckfastleigh and it is fab! Everything is laid out beautifully, there's no pressure and it's really good to be able to touch and feel, particularly the soft toys. All in all a traditional toy shop offering high quality products and nothing gimmicky, and all the children love it!

A fabulous shop and website. The shop is a pleasure to visit - finally a toy shop that is happy for your child to touch and play with things! In fact it was encouraged! Good advice given and didn't feel pushed into buying anything. The toys are all gorgeous - and not expensive for the quality.

While searching the internet for quality wooden toys for our granddaughter, we discovered areafive. The layout of the web site we found easy to negotiate and clearly laid out and had a large selection of the type of toys we were searching for. The bonus was in discovering that they had a REAL toyshop in Buckfastleigh which was not too far from where we live.

We decided to pay a visit and were amazed at the range of toys they had in stock. The owners were very helpful and made the shopping experience a real pleasure, guiding us with advice as to age and suitability.

The product we chose was a Creations in Wood Hand Crafted Rocker and Ride-On Combi Camel, a quality British made product, that would last. Amazing value for money.

We will definitely be using this company again.

My first purchase from Area Five was 'Tolo Sneezy the Activity Dragon', a beautiful soft toy that I gave my friend as a gift for her newborn. I found the range of items on the website to be varied and high quality, and most importantly easy to search for. There is a good choice of ways to find what you want, including brand, themes, price, occasion and - usefully for someone who doesn't have children of her own - age recommendation! I couldn't fault the customer service, which felt personal and efficient. The thing I was most impressed by was the community aspect of the site - as well as selling gorgeous, unusual toys, there is a blog, competitions, advice for parents and interviews that make it feel like they really care about children and families. It's now a firm favourite.

A fantastic range of modern, but old fashioned quality (ie not cheap plastic or made in Taiwan) children's toys. As a paediatric physio, I have recommended this website to my colleagues and parents as they have a great selection of toys that encourage early development skills, such as threading beads which are hard to find anywhere else.

My niece and nephew, not to mention my friend's babies all love the gifts I buy from here - my only problem is trying to choose what to buy! The toys are a fraction more expensive than places like toys'r'us or Asda, however, you are buying quality and service.

I also love the fact that I can order natural/eco friendly baby products to be delivered to friends as baby gifts as well as clothes that are cute and colourful.
