Please be advised that this website is based in the USA and is selling dangerous and fake items, they are being investigated by more than one UK authority and hopefully they will be shut down. If you are unsure check the quality of their website, try calling them or check their terms to see if they comply with the UK Distance Selling Regulations. Do not waste your money, if you have been duped simply return the goods to the address stated (its empty) and demand a refund through the Paypal resolution centre.

I ordered a bow from bestcrossbows. Like some of the other guys on here I was unaware that these were imported from America. The transaction was OK I got hit for £14.40 VAT and clearance fee, I told these guys and yep sure enough they refunded the 14 pound straight away.Overall good value for money and I would deal with them again no problem.Delivery was OK to I bought it on Sunday and it arrived the next Friday.

I can't believe this negative feedback? I got my crossbow within 3 days of ordering, FROM THE STATES! - true, I too was asked to pay on delivery another £14 from UPS - I paid it, then emailed the company - they apologised and refunded me within 24 hours via paypal - excellent! excellent product, solid construction, easy to asemble, shoots straight and accurate, such amazing value for money, and great response to query/refund - would definately use again.... :-)

I ordered of this website, when the item arrived I was asked for another payment even though I had paid through paypal. The address on the website is a UNITED KINGDOM address but an AMERICAN phone number nobody is ever on live chat and not getting a response to emails. It state on there website there are no hidden charges what so ever. This is a lie I suggest not to use this site has you will have to pay money when they deliver your parcel.

It would be different if they told you this before you purchase.

I placed my order as they seemed to be the cheapest, and then found this site and started to worry. I did call the company and spoke to a guy who was not at all helpful, making me even more concerned. BUT the goods turned up as they emailed me a tracking number, and I did not have to pay any import duty or other charges as reported on here by previous customers, I think if these guys spoke to their customers there wouldnt be a problem. But I found the service to be pretty good, and the bow is awesome.

I would have liked to have known these guys were in the States as I wanted to use a UK company for a purchase of this high value. But I would recommend this company.

The order was placed on in Jun 2009. Despite appearances, this website is on the USA West Coast and any calls to the number on the website go to voicemail. The chat facility on the site is never active. Emails are rarely answered and, if they are, are unsigned and misspelled. No confirmation of despatch received. No request for refund acknowledged, let alone fulfilled. Order history cleared from personal section on site so no evidence either. Evidence suggests these guys are neither responsive nor ethical. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY!

All though I'm very pleased with the crossbow ,i was not so happy in having to pay at my door the sum off £26.33 for Brokerage Surcharges and import Tax £15.33.. If id known this i would not have use this firm.

I think Best Crossbows should say on their site about extra cost you will pay at door.

I do not recommend you using this site. They have yet to reply to mine which are 10 days old. Crossbow is stuck at a holding company in Birmingham whilst dispute is sorted.

Again, my advice, do not use!
