Schuh-You www.schuh-you.com

I was a bit nervous using schuh-you.com because a) I couldn't find any reviews for it online and b) the site is in German! But I decided to go ahead and order anyway because I desperately wanted a particular pair of shoes :)

The English version of the site is passable but the FAQs are oddly worded and somewhat unhelpful. The site could really do with proper localisation for English (can't comment on other languages). However, it's all very functional and nicely designed, and the pages where you input your personal details are easy enough to fill in. The plug-in that allows you to view close-ups of the shoes is a nice touch.

I was a bit put off by the way the shop does credit card payments; they are done through a separate site. My browser notified me the site that I was paying through was unknown and possibly not secure. But I wanted these shoes, so I paid... a while later, I received a confirmation about my order, but not about my payment. The next day, I emailed the customer service address to confirm that my payment had gone through, but it was another couple days before a customer service person confirmed they had received my money and my order was processing. In that time I was a bit worried, so more prompt communication would've been nice. However, the email I received back from CS was polite.

When my shoes shipped out a few days later, schuh-you.com sent me the link with the parcel number so I could track it. They use DPD, which probably have their own review somewhere, but the delivery went smoothly and my shoes have arrived, 10 days after I placed my order (shipped from Germany to UK).

So: a positive experience with schuh-you.com, happy to recommend if you find yourself in need of shoes that you can apparently only get from Germany :)
