This PS4 comparison site is typical of what a price comparison site looked like maybe 10 years ago. The prices are displayed in a single table with no facility to sort or filter the results.

The stock status includes a 'check stock' status, a typical cookie dropper link. If a product is not in stock it should state out of stock. Using a 'check stock' link is of no use to anyone except the site owner.

Surprisingly this site is quite high in Google's rankings. They've achieved this by bloating the site out with pseudo news/blog articles that nobody will ever read. The users of price comparison sites are pre-sold on the product, all they want to see is prices and not a lot else.

You have to blame Google for that last point. If they stopped rewarding sites for writing this stuff, the site owners might be able to spend more time improving the key features of their site, namely the price comparison service.
