I purchased 2 mobile phones on a contract, cash back basis. I received the first months cash back and after that non what so ever. Tried ringing and writing on many occasions but no luck.

I have purchased 2 mobile phones from The Phone World and they promised me for the cash back of £45 each month, but I only received one month cash-back and then whenever I call the customer service, they will make me hang on and will give so many excuses. They owe me my 272 pounds.

I never knew there are so many like me not getting their cash-backs!!!

I Have Purchased 2 Mobile Phones From The Phone Wo

I have purchased 2 mobile phones from The Phone World. 5 Months cash back is due amounting to £350+. I never got one. I could reach their customer service on the phone a couple of times. They said I will get my cheques on Friday, which never came. I am still waiting for that Friday.

Phone World started off very friendly and chatty, but when it was time to pay up the rent back from my monthly tariff (which they said would be free), I never saw a penny!! Every time I rang I was fobbed of time and time again, with excuses that they had some problem with my ID that I had sent in. Then they didn't received it when I sent it again, and that they then had some problem with their account, and it would be sorted out in 2 - 3 weeks!! And finally, when I managed to get through to them on that ridiculous phone service, I was told that a cheque would be coming to me shortly!!! Weeks and weeks went by and I didn't receive any cheque, so when I rang them, the phone number was no longer in use!! I have since written numerous letters to the address I was given initially, but as expected, I haven't received any form of reply!!!

Very disappointed!!

The Phone World are a very poor online mobile phone shop. They are unorganised, and I am very annoyed about not receiving any cashback. I have a total of £600 outstanding, and I can get no response from them.

We Have Had Exactly The Same Thing Happen As Other

We have had exactly the same thing happen as other reviews. The cashback cheques promised, call backs promised, and nothing materialises when you call The Phoneworld customer service. You have to wait the obligatory 10 minutes or more before they answer the phone, and then you get false promises. I have now contacted Birmingham Trading Standards and we have written a letter demanding the outstanding cashback payments, as they are in breach of contract.

We are now waiting for an answer as they have 7 days to reply.

I have just been on the BBC watchdog website and submitted a complaint. I'm not sure if I will hear back from them as they have said that they cannot respond to all complaints. I can't find any information about the court case that they are going to pursue against the phoneworld. Do you have any links?

I Regret Purchasing 2 Mobile Phones From The Phone

I regret purchasing 2 mobile phones from The Phone World. They now owe me £236.50, and this is the total for 3 months! I am tired of phoning the 0871 number. The girls on the other end of the phone do not care about your situation and claim that "you should receive your cheques by Friday". I have been waiting for around 3 months now and I am told different excuses over the phone, and I am truly fed up. Getting a phone from them was the biggest mistake of my life.

yeh i'm sorry to hear that you guys are experiencing similar problems to me. i went to trading standards and they told me to write one final letter asking them for my money and asking them what the complaints procedure is. i had a reply from them saying that they are looking into the matter, but they didn't even sign it. i didn't let that letter get my hopes up. i have written 2 letters since and have had no reply. i still do not have my money. the contract ends on 7th september. (make sure you phone orange one month in advance to cancel the contract). so i put the complaint to watchdog BBC, through their website and i am going to take the matter to small claims court. watchdog have not contacted me yet.

i went onto the website - www.thephoneworld.com, and the website does not exist. i reckon that the actual shop is closed too. i think that the company may have closed down due to bankrupcy. i don't know if this is true. all i can say is that if you are having the same problems then you should take the matter to bbc watchdog, and look into small claims...

WOW didn't know there was so many people with the same problem as me! I have a phone with phoneworld and they owe me £90 which is 3 months worth of cashback. They signed me up at my freshers fayre at university at first it was fine then the problems started when i asked for my cashback. The customer service is non existent and i have realised after timing every call to customer services that they hold you for exactly 10 minutes cue or no cue! There treatment of customers is awful and i always get the same things!

All likely stories but all aload of nonsense! We got onto trading standards and they told us to send a letter, if that doesn't work then were going to speak to trading standards again! I am never getting a phone from them again!

The Phone World Are A Really Bad Company, Always H

The Phone World are a really bad company, always had a problem with cash back system since the day bought. I have to call them every week. My phone bill is high because of calling them. The phone is always busy or they cut you off. Bad customer service. Worst company ever come across never buy anything from them, you'll regret it. You will lose your money they do not pay back the cash back as stated in the contract. The contract was never explained clearly. Very bad.

I Purchased A Motorola C975 On 3g For £0 Lin

I purchased a Motorola C975 on 3G for £0 line rental for 12 months on a 12 months contract from Thephoneworld. What a fantastic deal! There were no hidden charges, and every month I posted the bill and I got my cashback, and sometimes before the money went out of my account.
