I Got This Tata Indicom Mobile Phone For 5000 Buck

I got this Tata Indicom mobile phone for 5000 bucks and a post paid connection for 450 rental/month about an year back. And believe me the past one year with tata indicom has been a pain in the neck for me..

Talking about the handset...before buying this 5000 rupees set i had this cheap set of Haier for Tata Indicom...It was so so very slow that it used to take more than 1 complete second before i see the character typed in the cell on the screen.

--I thought a costlier set would fare well on the quality so i got this Haier 5000 rupees set..But this one was even worse...The problems i faced were so many that i can count them down:

1)The battery backup was strictly for a 15 hours or such...if used optimally.

2)The first battery died within 4 months of purchase..

3)The cell would switch off without any warning and would switch on not before 10 hours..the center people when approached would certainly have no idea why is it happening and whats the cure. This scenario happened atleast 6 times in the past one year.

4)The 7th time it just wont' switch on again, the center people said the chip is spoilt and a replacement would take 15days. So i was left without a cell for two weeks.

5)The new chip lasted for 2 months before the second battery also died, leaving me with no option other than buying a new one worth rs.2000.

6)The charger, every time i would decide to charge my cell(which was everyday, thanks to the poor battery backup) i would have to spend a good 10 minutes struggling to get it properly stuck in the switch before it starts charging.Somethings wrong in the make of all of their chargers that the plug just does not make proper contact with the switch.

7)No charger ever lasted for more than 2 months..I still have the bill for having the charger replaced 4 times and once i bought a new one

So i decided i quit. Was way too frustrated to invest any more money or time on it.The cell and the charger made me run to the tata indicom sevice center atleast once every month and twice or thrice sometimes a month..That means i have made a total of atleast 16-17 trips to the sevice center in the past 1 year.

8)Talking of their customer care.....they are a real government office...offline and online..

--Never pick up a call before 10:30 and after 6:30.

--Visit any of their offices, you would die waiting for your turn to come...even a government bank before the online banking thing started was faster than them....

--Half the time their server is down.i had to visit the store at least twice to get the bill paid.

9)Lastly they have all sorts of nonsense methods for verification...they never bother to call you before a verification....they just drop by and call up saying that they are outside ..come and verify...if you miss it you would have to keep calling the customer care again and again...how can they expect somebody to be available at home during office hours...that is way too irrational....

10)I wasted my last week getting a docomo sim for a friend of mine, who despite several warnings from me against it insisted on getting it.

--They did not ask for the copy of the pan card at the time of purchase,my sim registration failed. The next day they told me about it and i was made to rush to get the xerox immediately.

--Second day it still was showing failed, reason being xerox of back side of the pan card was also needed. That again was furnished.

--Third day it was fine ,i made a call of two with the number.

--Fourth day,it failed again,i enquiried from the vendor, and got to know that the number is barred.A seal of the company i work for was needed on the address proof..

This was way too frustrating....why dont' they mention what all things are needed....The vendor himself had a good fight with the tata indicom man on these lines and stopped taking their connection.

In all this tata indicom has given me a really tough time...i am resolved never to switch back to it and would keep my friends and relatives from doing it....if you are going for it then be ready for some good trouble.....

I Decided To Buy A Contract Mobile From Mobile Co

I decided to buy a contract mobile from Mobile Connections www.mobileconnectionsonline.com - BIG MISTAKE.

The website is well put together, but don't be fooled by this, like I was - that's the only good thing about them, the customer services are awful, and they are slow at paying the monthly cashbacks - when they do pay up.

They send a text to confirm the cashback has been processed - which is a good ideal. But I don't understand why they need to include my SORT CODE and ACCOUNT NUMBER. I can't believe anyone could be stupid enough to think this is a good ideal.

Don't they understand that identity fraud is on the up? Anyone could find out my bank account details, this is the same account my wages go into. This pissed me off more that anything else. I've had to get a new bank account to put my wages into, just to be on the safe side. If anyone sees that text at least they can't get access to my wages.

I would NEVER EVER buy another mobile from these guys. I've had a mobile contract with a cashback deal before and never had this amount of problems. The final straw was when I sent my bill to them for the cashback and received a text that they had processed my cashback, and they wanted me to text back to asking if I still wanted my cashback. Of course I do, why bother texting me?

The reason I purchased my mobile from them was that they were going to pay my cashback every month. Sounds good in theory.

I sent my first bill for the cashback - however they said they had not received my letter, which meant they would NOT pay me my cashback for the first month. Not happy about this because I did sent it. Spoke to customer services, who were not interested, they could not wait to end the call.

This was not the only time when they said they had not received my letters. I've had to start sending my letters by registered post.

This experience has put me off buying another cashback deal from an independent retailer. Next time I will buy directly from a network provider.

Hopefully you will find this review helpful. I wish someone had reviewed this company before I purchased my mobile from them. This was my experience, hopefully yours will be better. It can't be much worse.
