Snail Mail And Missleading
Really poor. Bought the chain on 5th December with delivery estimated at 5-10 days. Heard nothing. On the 23rd I chased and was told it was with parcelforce and should be delivered imminently.
I chased again today and was told I had to pay customs charges “as stated on the website”. It’s the 4th paragraph down in their delivery Ts and Cs that states this. Who reads all the Ts and Cs nowadays?! Should be made much clearer.
Now awaiting a letter from parcelforce detailing how to pay customs charges.
Really poor. If I’d any idea it would take so long and have customs charges I would simply not have bought.
Broken Promise.
To join "Jewelstreet.com" as a merchant I was required to pay £499 and was promised to get this fee back in case if no items are sold during 1 year period. Unfortunately, this promise was broken.
Hi, Has it ever got better? I was thinking about starting out with the 200 fee.

I Bought A Bracelet Off The Jewel Street Site, It
I bought a bracelet off the jewel street site, it arrived and looked like cheap chinese. The clasp broke on it and they refused to give me a refund. The staff were rude on emails to me. I searched yahoo for the jeweller after and saw the product advertised on there site for HALF price!
Before you buy something on Jewelstreet look around.
I'm sorry but we think you have JewelStreet confused with another site; we always offer a 30 day no quibble money back guarantee, actively vet all of our designers for quality (there are no cheap imports) and offer a price match guarantee if the designer is selling it cheaper on their own site. We have not been able to find a past order from your surname, but please get in touch with us and we will do everything we can to get to the bottom of the situation.

A lot cheaper than other sites with the same products, ordered several items in the run-up to Christmas and all arrived before the expected delivery date. Fantastic site and I will be returning in the future.

Good Concept, Not That Well Executed
Sadly not all the jewellers on this site are professionals. Some stuff is clearly imported and not made by jewellers here in the UK at all....and some pieces on the JS website are actually available on the makers web sites at 50% less !!!. - looked for a pendant for my wife, and double checked the makers (CAVENDISH FRENCH ) website where it was available at HALF THE PRICE it was on jewel Street ! The concept is great, but the people running the site have not been anywhere near strict enough about vetting people joining the site. I read on Facebook that there is even one person selling nickel jewellery ! - Under the EU directive you can't sell jewellery items containing nickel in the UK :(. I feel sad that buyers coming to this site may be mislead by SOME of the so called "jewellers" on here....The people running Jewel Street should hoof off Jewellers who don't make items in the UK , or make items themselves. Surely the ethos of this site is to encourage well made HANDMADE jewellery , not jewellery mass produced by factories overseas ??...If you don't make the jewellery yourself then how are the public to know what you sell , where its made and who made it !!...We keep calling for transparency in retail in this country, and its time web site owners laid down rulings when setting up sites like this. There are some seriously good jewellers on here, and the ones who import stuff from overseas are doing them an injustice
Many thanks for your comments which Jewelstreet have made us aware of. We try very hard to have consistent prices across all our jewellery sold on our own website and on Jewelstreet but occasionally we do run specific sales on a small number of lines which may mean products are cheaper on our site or on Jewelstreet for a limited amount of time as has clearly happened with the pendant you were looking at. We do have several promotions with Jewelstreet over the next month which means products will be better value there for that time period than on our own site. I do hope that you shop with Jewelstreet in the future.

i'd start by hoofing off the maker who sells Nickel jewellery then !. And yes, there is no problem theoretically to not limiting people who make goods abroad - but is the ethos of the site really to encourage people to sell items made cheaply abroad - they are not fair trade - do you know where they are made, by whom or in what conditions ?. NO would be the answer. We are fighting to see fair race gold sold here, surely we should be trying to sell fairly made jewellery too if its imported ?......
Many thanks for your comments. We wanted to reassure you that all our jewellery is checked for quality with our inhouse goldsmith. We do not limit makers to those that are made in the UK, but we do stop cheap, low quality imports. Many designers manufacture overseas, but design locally. We are committed as a business to maintaining the quality of the product and ensuring we have at least as good a pricing as our designers selling direct. We will look into the example you mention and ensure that designer is adhering to our strict rules and accreditation.

Fantastic New Find
Firstly the website is very easy to use and displays the products well making it easy to find something I liked. I love one of the designers work on there
His designs are just amazing.
All the designers on the site are professional jewellery designers and makers so i was assured of the quality of work as i have bought stuff from other sites and the jewellery feels cheap and poorly made. Whereas all the items on the site are handmade.
The site also offers a 30 day money back guarantee so even if i got my earrings and didn't like them i could have sent them back (but i love them so why would i ever do that)
