Terrible Service!!!

Ordered doors November 2013 fr first delivery in new year, After approximately 40 phone calls and date changes for delivery we found our doors dumped in the conservatory, warped in March!!!!

These people have no issues lying about the date they will deliver, even down to saying they will be with you within the hour despite the fact they still hadnt collected our doors from the port! Would not recommend to anybody.

Our doors were purchased as solid pine and arrived as a veneer, shocking! The doors seemed like a really good deal....sometimes things are just too good to be true, unfortunatley this is one of those things!

Appalling Service!

Ordered some doors in November 2013 and paid upfront. Delivery was meant to be a couple of weeks. Despite chasing on several occasions and assurances they were being delivered , received nothing!

Finally I rang to cancel the order in January

Still waiting for the refund....just found out on here that they are not trading anymore.

Typical, rubbish company and even more rubbish service!

They Have Gone Bust !!

Just opened my post and saw a letter from them that they have seized trading and i shall try getting my money back from card issuer!!!! i am waiting for those doors over 6 weeks with false promises and all PAID for,

This is the wording on the letter

"Due to economic downturn , and lack of support through financial institutions, we regret to inform you that we have no further option but top cease trading as of 15/02/14

we would therefore suggest that you contact your card issuer to claim for any refund due to non-supply of your goods.

the same has happened to us £1200 given to them and the doors should have been here yesterday! and stupidly paid with debit card doubt i will get my money back! I'm so upset!

Has the same letter. I paid £720 to them last week and got the letter Monday I found some of there suppliers and called them to see if they could me any other contact details but no luck .they had no ideas he'd gone bust. My own fault for not reading the reviews ,a hard lesson to learn.

Please Be Advised, Do Not Have Anything To Do With

Please be advised, do not have anything to do with this company, we ordered £360 worth of doors from them on 3rd December and were constantly lied about delivery of our order right up until last Thursday when they promised to deliver on Friday. Bearing this in mind, we have today received a letter telling us they have ceased trading so basically they lied to us even on Thursday knowing full well they would renege on the order. They advised us to reclaim our money from our credit card, unfortunately we paid with a debit card and are now £360 out of pocket. I cannot tell you with what disgust I hold this company. Please steer clear of any company he stars up next time as no doubt he will and take more honest peoples money !!! I have had to give this company 1 star to register my review but they are despicable for telling the lies they have to me and others to basically take their money. I will be seeking redress through the courts but don't hold out any hope !

Have just received my money back into my account after submitting my claim on Monday so a very prompt response. I am happy that after not expecting to get my money back on a Debit Card payment, I not only was able to make a claim but received the whole payment back of £365. Perseverance does pay off after all ! We have not ordered and received our doors from a local company and even got them cheaper. Smiles all round from me !

We are with Santander and they have a Chargeback scheme which is not so good as a credit card insurance scheme but does cover you up to a certain level (they could not confirm over the phone how much). However, they are sending us a claim form to complete and return and they will investigate and let me know what I can claim. There is a deadline for claiming under this scheme of 120 days so you need to check (a) that you can claim and (b) how long you have to make a claim. Good Luck!

Hi we are in exactly he same predicament, we order in early december only today rang again to find out where our doors our and they do not exist! my husband did the same paid with debit card but ours was £1200! i am still i shock and going to ring the bank to see if there is anything that can be done! surely there must be a way to get our money back!

Great Product But Poor Service

We were very happy with the doors available from Prestige Doors BUT instead of the TWO visits we were told would be necessary to first survey and then fit the doors, it took SEVEN visits before they were finished. This included cancellations and just not turning up when a visit had been agreed. Worse still, the doors, although fully primed and treated by PD did swell up and jam in their fittings. When we called them to report this, the PD fitter responsible told us he would not come and look at them unless we agreed to pay for all the charges involved in freeing them up. This seems wrong and we need to take this up with Trading Standards. Surely if the doors are properly primed they should not swell, and if they do swell surely that should come within the coverage of after-sales work that is under guarantee. So beware of Prestige Doors.

Maybe people will realise that there is a lot to be said about dealing with local shops that have been established for over 30 years, we have just served one of these customers, they received there goods within 3 days, with good service. THE CLASSIC DOOR COMPANY. LEIGH ON SEA. We will be pleased to help where we can, really sorry that you have all been treated in an appalling way.

after being lied to for 3 weeks then put on hold or so they thought. then hearing them talking about me off for requesting an update followed by the guy saying non of his customers will be getting their doors!! i find this company appalling i would rather pay a bit more and give the money to a decent company.

Let Down And Lied To!

Victorian 4-panel internal shaker style doors.

Ordered a sample door and door furniture. Waited 3-months for delivery. Against better judgement ordered a further 7 doors with furniture and including fitting. Given 100% guarantee that we would not be let down a second time. Guess what, failed to deliver as promised. Agreed a revised delivery and install date and they failed to keep that. Basically constantly lied to over a period of 4-weeks. Look out for the following excuses (lies):

- The delivery vehicle did not turn up!

- The delivery vehicle turned up, but the doors were not on it!

- The doors have still not arrived!

- The doors are in and the fitter will call to agree a date!

- The doors are not in! Who told you they were in?

- The Fitter will call you on Friday to arrange a date!

- The fitter will call you on Monday to arrange a date!

- The doors won't be in until Thursday.

- The hinges have not arrived.

Having contacted their their door supplier (XL joinery) and received confirmation that our doors are always available on 3-5 day delivery, we visited Prestige Wooden doors to cancel our order. Yes, they still continued to lie to us, blaming the door supplier. We subsequently ordered the doors through another XL Joinery supplier (www.alldoors.com). Order placed on Monday and delivered on Friday!

On a positive note, they refunded our £500 deposit without quibbling.

Waste Of Time

Having found their very good web-site my wife and I visited their premises on the 9th August 2013, with a degree of optimism.

We entered the trade counter and spent about half an hour with an employee whose product knowledge was somewhat limited. I discussed my requirements and provided the relevant measurements and the employee suggested that the best way forward was for a representative of the company to visit my home the following Monday, 12th August, to measure up, so I could be provided with a quotation. I was told that the person concerned would visit sometime between 4pm and 6.30pm. He couldn't be more specific as the representative would be visiting after finishing work. I told him that wasn't a problem as we would be in anyway. By 7.15pm we hadn't seen or heard from anybody so, I sent a very polite email asking why nobody had visited.

To date, I have had no response and will not be bothering to contact them again. Having read most of the reviews on here, this company smacks of unreliability.  

Having round tripped about an hour and a half to visit this company and explaining that my requirement was for 16 internal doors, I find their lack of concern and customer care extremely worrying!!

Excellent Job Done, But Read The Review For Full Details

Fitting a wooden door properly is a skilled job and this is what this company did well.

Also how often do you get a tradesman turning up with his own vacuum cleaner as part of the extensive tool kit and someone who cleans up as he goes along leaving the house as tidy as he fond it.

When you order a wooden door from them be aware that you might need to call them now and then to check on your order as keeping me updated was not their strongest point, some of the other reviews seem to echo this.

Also remember that the company is at the mercy of their suppliers with a lot of the doors being imported delays are possible which can seem annoying.

In the end the work was completed to an excellent standard and the doors and frames look superb, which after all is what it's all about. Neighbours are commenting on the fantastic new front door with one already seeking a quote.

If the company had kept me updated a little better it would have been 5 stars on this review.
