They take a base price ticket for the price of their integrated stove - in this case it was on offer at around £500. You don't even know at this point that this is ex-VAT...

Then they price up the 'deal' including fitting but do not itemise all the added extras that make the base price double (At least. In my case 120%). They tell you the overall price includes fitting and then add the VAT at the end. By this point you are still very happy to go ahead because on the basis that fitting is included it is an exceptional price.

You are therefore more than happy to pay a deposit to get things moving!

You are then told that a fitter will conduct a survey because there may be additional requirements that add cost to the all-inclusive price already quoted - fair enough! This is not an average DIY job so you take their lead as the experts.

When all is done and you confirm you want to go ahead you pay up so they can order everything in.... (knowing that fitting is fitted - they really are explicit in this but they ultimately deny it!! - Old school 20th century car-sales tactics or what?!)

Now I was lucky because I smelled a rat after going through all the paperwork and rang up to confirm everything the next day after paying.

Yep you guessed it, they were typically 'taken aback' and 'aghast' that I thought fitting was included! I hate this type of retailing. It went out in the dark age!Do not trust them. Imagine if it had been installed and THEN I found out I owed the fitter payment direct?! No wonder they wanted the deposit that day...

Avoid at all costs.

Oh and try to find a review on Google - good or bad. The internet protects retailers now as they are a massive revenue source. No longer can you find information, the Internet is just a directory for business now!
