Did the usual searching to find the best possible price for a Sony LED TV (the 22" Smart TV - KDL22EX553BU). TribalUK was by far the best price I could get (and with free delivery). So of course I go ahead, make the purchase (on the credit card to be safe) and I'm a happy punter. For some reason, having made the purchase, I then start looking for reviews of Tribal (Doh!). Perhaps you, like me, then start finding some bad stories. A history of (apparent) poor service. Regret starts to sink in, but by then it's too late.

I think about cancelling the order, then I think of the hassle. So I search some more to try and find some good news. Which I do.... In September last year appears Tribal was bought by Hughes Electrical. Now these guys have a great reputation. So I'm feeling better. But I reserve judgement until the delivery date, which I was able to choose when I placed the order. Not all companies do that.

So today (Dec 21st) is the day of reckoning. Not only is the world due to end, but my TV is due to arrive. I just hope it turns up before that catastrophic event so I can watch it on my new TV.

So what happens? First thing I see is the invoice in my inbox from last night. OK, at least something is happening. Then, at 08:30, another note. "Your order will be delivered 21 December". Things are looking good. And then.... nothing happens.... for a little while anyway. At 10:22 precisely this very precise note turns up with a very precise message - "Your order is due for delivery between 15:22-16:22 today". Brilliant!! And guess what... it did!

I don't recall any other such precise delivery service, other than when my Olympics tickets were delivered. Maybe they are related. But, I can't fault it. Well done TribalUK and a Happy Christmas to you all....

I ordered a pocket radio, I got the cheapest deal I found online, everything went smoothly, no hiccups.

I wanted the LG7420p cinema system and it showed up on google shopping for £250 at tribaluk. I then found it on some website called prudentpanda or something that took another £10 off via tribaluk as a new customer deal.

So it was £50 cheaper than the next cheapest price at dixons online store. Normally I would have gone with dixons due to some awful albeit old reviews of tribaluk but I am off work and if it didnt turn up I hadnt wasted a day of work at least and saved £50. Plus the order came up as the new people, Hughes, on the invoice.

I ordered 5am on wednesday with paypal and selected friday as the delivery day. At 8.50am on friday I got a text confirming my parcel would be with me at 9.45, which it did.

My only one gripe or room for improvement is that I got no confirmation that the delivery was going to take place until one hour before it arrived. No money was taken until it was delivered.

Can you imagine anyone taking a day off when no one has assured you its coming on that day and your money hasnt been taken? Even if you get aunty Doris round for the day she still might not want to hang around your house incase something from your internet world materialises.

Just to be clear

1. I got confirmation of payment details received on wednesday (money was never taken until day of delivery on the friday).

2. then on thursday late afternoon I got confirmation of the order but it detailed that no money would be taken until the dispatch process had started and thus no contract was in place

3.Then the text one hour before it arrived

Anyway the product is great, it arrived when I asked and it was super cheap they just need to supply a delivery status earlier so you can be sure your safe in taking a day off etc.

I was very concerned about the previous reviews and that the company was in administration PRE March 2011. However I contacted the copmpany and was re-assured that it has been taken over and are fully operational. I made the payment of the phone for next day delivery, I did not recieve an email confirmation so was still quite concerned, however I was told that I may not recieve an email as the sale was over the phone. Although I still contacted again (maybe I am just to paranoid, but I guess we all can be). I was promised the delivery would be sent out the next day. Alas the product arrived on time. Therfore I would recommend from this company and will be using it again.

I was not to sure about dealing with them as I had read about going into administration, but took a chance as they offered between £30.00-£100.00 cheaper than any other 'established' company and with free delivery + I found a discount code that gave me a few pounds more off (I paid less then £249.00) ... Did some ground work and found they were now the 'discount' branch of Hughes TV who have been around for years so went ahead. Used Paypal to cover me and awaited, same day got a call to let me know when delivery would take place (ordered Wednesday - Delivery for Friday same week) ... duly got an email from delivery company and text to let me know delivery slot ... having now played with the camera for the past hour am 'Well Happy' and can only say a big thanks to all at TribalUK .... glad I took the chance.....

ordered vaccuum cleaner on 24/9/11 and received order 27/9/11. Tribal UK was a TOGC(transfer of a going concern). Hughes Direct absorbed Tribal and they were true to their word.They confirmed via a telephone conversation, that the goods would be delivered, as specified on the Tribal website; 27/9/11

On day of delivery, the courier company confirms between which hours they will be able to deliver the good(s).
