I recently bought a new Roberts Chrono-Logic VI clock radio and it cost £20. I've owned Roberts radios before, and although Roberts have a long reputation for making very high quality products, my experience with one a few years ago suggested that the quality and attention to design could have been a little bit better.

But I decided to give them another chance, and when I bought my Roberts Chrono-Logic VI clock radio online I wasn't expecting great things in return for my £20. I was, however, very pleasantly surprised when the radio arrived. It's a well made, quality product with a neat and nicely styled appearance, and it does everything that a clock radio should do.

Lots of useful features and I particularly like the way it sets the right time, date and year as soon as you plug it in. No adjustments and fiddling around pushing buttons to set it up - the clock "knows" the time and date and does all the setting up on its own! I also like the green digital display, which is nice and clear, and the brightness of the display automatically adjusts to suit the lighting in the room. So if it's on your bedside table and you switch off the light for the night, the clock senses the change in ambient light conditions and dims its display to a soft glow.

It has a dual alarm facility, the analogue radio (FM and MW) works fine, and it comes with an excellent user guide which is well written and illustrated.

All in all, an excellent radio - and for £20 I think it's an absolute bargain from a prestigious maker.

I bought a Roberts WM202 over a year ago and it is a fantastic piece of equipment. The sound is great, it´s easy to use and is very reliable.

So why am I reviewing a year after my purchase? Well the station I listen to everyday suddenly disappeared from the stations available and I had to speak to Roberts customer services. They were great and they were able to get me connected again within a short time.

In summary, a great solid device coupled with customer services you can rely on. What more do you need?
