After years of buying online, I made a cardinal error of taking Ebuy4you as a 'normal' online retailer. After charging my card on the 9th of July, I had to chase them for a delivery date. They responded in a strange email stating the 19th of July. Tens days after charging my card and no valid explanation! I chased them again, stating it was not good enough - they sent a reply saying they had a delivery slot on the 18th. So I waited. On the 18th I asked them the time of delivery - an email came back stating they were having problems but would definitely deliver on the 19th between 5 and 7pm. I wasted a whole day, nothing came. I then tried to phone and the phone line was off. I concluded it was a scam. Later I called Trading Standards, who confirmed that this business was a bogus business not based in Manchester but run by scammers from an offshore point advertising fictitious items that don't exist and they have no intention of delivering. The WHOIS listing of the website shows a Gurjit Singh owning the website. If anyone reading this knows this man they should shop him to the law enforcement agencies asap. Ordered the vacuum cleaner online at ebuy4u.com on July 10. The website looked legit - used Google checkout, had delivery and returns info etc. Invoice and order confirmation arrived via email. My credit card was charged for the full £225 and another email saying my item had shipped arrived. A delivery date of July 20 was given but no tracking number. Surprise, surprise the vacuum cleaner didn't arrive on due date. Tried to contact ebuy4u via telephone and got a message similar to this: press 1 if you would like to leave this person a text. Emailed the company and filled in a eform online but haven't heard anything from ebuy4u. Started to smell a rat I used Google to search for ebuy4u scam and found a thread had been started on Money Supermarket website. My fears were confirmed with other people also having the same problems as myself. I contacted my credit card company who have now opened a dispute, cancelled my credit cards, reported ebuy4u to Trading Standards and re-ordered the vacuum cleaner on Amazon. Do not use ebuy4u.
