RuSmart www.rusmart.co.uk

I ordered an Intel Core i5 750 CPU and Samsung F3 500gb hard disk from RuSmart.co.uk early morning on 19th December. This was due to be a main Christmas present, so I paid £8.50 for 2 day delivery.

The website showed they had 5 CPU's in stock and 30+ HDD's, so it seemed safe to order with plenty of time to deliver.

23rd December the delivery still hadn't arrived, so I phoned and spoke to somebody who advised that they didn't have any CPU's in stock and had added the stock level to the website as they were expecting them at some point, although they were a week late. My order had been delayed and I was not informed of this until the phone call.

The person I spoke to asked me to wait an hour and he'd phone me back after he'd tried to track down a CPU he could send me. An hour later, I phoned back, only to find that the person had not even started to look and had spent the time since the phone call with a customer in store. At this point, I had less than an hour before other stores stopped taking orders for Christmas delivery.

I cancelled the CPU and asked for the HDD to be delivered via guaranteed next day courier - Christmas eve. Unfortunately, RuSmart then sent the order to my billing address (my home address, not the requested delivery address) where I wasn't going to be. Although the courier had my correct home address from RuSmart, they attempted delivery at the wrong address completely (not RuSmart's fault, obviously). The courier will now only accept £15+vat to reroute the package, unless they can speak to RuSmart first, who aren't open until 4th January.

RuSmart may be the cheapest for a lot of things, but that's no good when you have to wait nearly 3 weeks for your order to arrive.
