Laptops And Pc's - I Wanted To Trade In My Year Ol
Laptops And PC's - I wanted to trade in my year old laptop for a newer smaller one so I called www.laptopsandpcs.co.uk to see if they'd take a trade in. The person I spoke to told me that they don't take in laptops because they're classed as industrial waste and you need a SEPA license for that! I found that hard to believe.
They sell secondhand laptops which is why I called them, thinking they might take in trade-ins and resell them.
Disappointed to have felt misled by such a crazy answer! If it was true, surely there would be no secondhand car shops?!
I am sorry to hear of this experience from a potential customer, but it has never been our policy to take second hand laptops. I feel is a little unfair to gain negative rating from someone who has never purchased and was in fact given accurate details of the regulations we have to abide by from WEEE and SEPA. The reason we do not take trade-ins is because we can track our used and refurb stock back to origin. We are never at risk from people attempting to trade in stolen items either. These measures are for our customers protection and have worked well for our customers in the 9 years we have been retailing this type of equipment. Cars are not covered by WEEE incidentally. Should anyone need further info please read the WEEE section on our website.
