Green Washing
Over the past 5 years I’ve purchased and enjoyed a handful of clothing from Gudrun Sjoden. I have made these purchases becuSe I love their designs AND of equal importance their seeming commitment to the environment.
My recent purchase of a sweater reeked of formaldehyde even after multiple washings. During communication with their customer service folks there was not transparency around this.
If their are touting their company as “green” shouldn’t this included standards around chemical toxicity in their clothing?
Very disappointed

Refuse To Refund Me
Although I love the clothes I will never shop with them again. I returned a pair of really pretty but very uncomfortable shoes and they are claiming that they have sent a refund. They refuse to listen when I tell them the money has not gone into my bank and ignore the email my bank sent informing them that I have not received the money. So, reluctantly because I love the clothes, I will never shop with them again. I feel that I have been tricked.

Incredibly Overpriced Absolute Dreck.
Wow! What a shock when I received these poorly made, tissue thin hideous clothes. Back they went ASAP. Got my $867 refund on a $970 order with no word on why the difference. I guess they have to pay for all of that slick advertising and those huge catalogs. These people and their clothes are a JOKE. Go to Marshalls and spend a quarter of what you would and get something that will at least last through one wash. I can't stress how wretched these clothes are.

Horrible Customer Service + They Silence You If You Complain
Purchased two pair of shoes as a gift for a friend. After 3 weeks of not receiving them I looked at tracking and they still showed the package was overseas. I’m in the US. I had to go out and purchase a replacement gift because her birthday was in a couple days. I receive the GS order last night, 25 days later. Too late. I went to return them and found out they were final sale which I didn’t notice. They refused to even give me a credit and were flip and condescending. They blamed UPS instead of taking ownership. I complained on one of their many advertisement’s in the comment section, warning people their order could take a month or more to receive and my comment was deleted and I was blocked. Notice they don’t allow reviews on their website. Easy to stay in business when you just delete and silence any complaints. I will never trust this company nor will I support their bloviated self-impressed words with empty actions. Way to run a business GS. After placing 25 orders in a year! You must be rolling in dough like a pirate to throw away loyal customers. At least you won’t get my dough anymore. Maybe Gudrun Sjödén herself is too busy to notice what’s happening to her company. The reviews offsite aren’t so hot. Sad! (My current and final order is 3 weeks in with no update in shipping, still in Germany)
From a search online recently, I accidentally came across a very negative piece from April this year, in something called “The Teller Report”. It was about many past & some current staff talking about the bullying culture at the company & racist & other awful stuff, mainly by Gudrun herself. I have been complaining (getting nowhere, they NEVER listen to their customers & treat us with contempt) about why all the clothing is not in 2XL. Then I read in this “Teller Report”, Gudrun herself made nasty comments about peoples size & said they were fortunate that she made some dresses in larger sizes. So that’s where that comes from?!!
It now says (don’t know if this is accurate& there’s a contradictory comment) Gudrun has left the organisation & gone to New York. No wonder they don’t allow reviews or customer comments on their site. I am now going to close my account (if I can find out how) & continue shopping with a UK company, that does all of it’s clothes in UK size, up to 42, listens to customers, offers returns & some amendments, like length, sleeves for no extra charge.

Worst Customer Service Anywhere.
Do not expect Customer Service to help with an order.
I have loved this company for several years but their customer service is terrible!
I placed an order on 9/24 and still did not have a ship date as of 10/3. I contacted customer service to see why it had not been shipped. They stated that the items were out of stock. I checked the website and only one item that was ordered was showing as out of stock. Contacted customer service again and asked that they send the in stock items or cancel the order. Instead of sending me the items they had in stock they canceled the entire order and lost a $500 sale. I guess they are doing so well that they no longer need customers.
This is the second time I've had an issue and I doubt I will bother ordering again - there are plenty of other companies that cooperate, at least minimally, with their customers.

Poor Quality Fabric . One Dress Ripped In Half.
I love the whimsical fabrics, but within a few months of purchase 3 out of 5 items had holes or rips .Not worth the money

Use To Be A Loyal Customer
i really love the colors and whimsy of gudrun sjogen design in her clothing. i own several of her clothing items (2 sweaters, a couple of dresses, etc..), and i am always complimented when wearing them. i have always purchased these items at her store in soho, but due to the pandemic i had my first experience ordering something online. i am completely blown away - not in a good way! no where online did they indicate that the item i purchased was out of stock, nor did that information appear on the confirmation of my order. since my confirmation did not have an "expected date of arrival" on it, i contacted customer service, and only then did i receive a reply informing me with that information. i was told that it would ship on a particular date and i would receive an email letting me know it had shipped. a day after that given date i contacted customer service again, since i had not received notification of shipment only to be told it was still out of stock. ok. i was disappointed at the least, but i was shocked that no where in any of the customer service contact did anyone from the company apologize for this issue. wouldn't that be the first thing a customer service representative should offer a long time customer? i wouldn't go so far as to say that at least one of the interactions with customer service was a bit "snippy". this is the last gudrun sjoden item i will ever purchase. i expected more from this beloved company

Interesting Designs And Fabrics, Poor Quality
I didn’t have any issues receiving my order from Sweden—did take a few weeks, but wasn’t in a hurry. Jacquard knits were well-made and will likely last awhile. Woven dresses and tops (non-jersey knit) were terrible: ok out of the package if flimsy and a bit cheap-feeling...but after one gentle hand-wash with luxury washing soap = awful, scratchy, flimsy, and coarse. Absolutely floored how cheap! The sizing is off by 2-3 sizes for the same top (different print)! Terrible quality control. There is no reason 2-piece cheap woven cotton voile top (no darts, shaping, nothing, just flat two seams and serged on two seams) sewn in India should cost $140US. I could have the same sewn by a seamstress in the US for $100 with absolutely top-quality fabric as the construction is rudimentary at best. Be very careful what you order. I like the jersey tops—on sale. Nothing special, but I appreciate some care with green/eco farming.

Absolutely Lovely! Gudrun Clothing Is My Happy Place.
I have been buying Gudrun Sjoden clothing over about fifteen years now and have never had a problem with the clothing or the customer service (always kind and helpful). I love the design, colours and patterns and the clothing that I have bought has lasted for years, but I do try to look after my clothes. They are not cheap and I only buy a couple of pieces a year, it's such a treat that there is a shop in London.
The website is not the greatest but never has been, it has never stopped me buying though ;) I haven't noticed any lessening in the quality of the clothing over the years - long may they run!

No Problem!
Having read the reviews on this site, I can honestly say that I do not for the most part recognise the issues people are complaining about. I've used the website for about 5 years. I've had no issues with deliveries, with customer service or with receiving refunds when necessary. I find the clothes unique in design and colour. Yes they are more expensive than I'd like, but I accept that this is not a company to shop with if you want cheap clothing. Go to Primark if you want that. It has sometimes seemed to me that fabrics can be thinner than I expected. I've always thought this might be down to the company using organic cottons and less environmentally damaging dyes and production techniques, which I assume cost more. In a perfect world, I'd get my gudrun sjoden designs from a local shop at a lower cost. But it is as it is and it's ok with me.
Q&A
How do I contact customer service? There are items on the delivery note I have not received. I live in the UK and find the number permanently engaged
