Faulty Wind Deflector

In May of this year 2013 i purchased through ebay a set of wind deflectors for my Audi A3 made by Heko.

I fitted them as per instructions and having already fitted sets to other cars owned with in the family had a fair idea of what was required.

Roll on to August this year after the very hot weather one of the rear deflectors fell off the car and broke. After several emails and telephone calls it appears, according to the manufacturer, its my fault for not fitting them correctly.

I find this odd as the other three are still on the car and i was told by Towequipe that no others had done this even though they have sold thousands.

Now even with the best will in the world every manufacturer has failures its a fact of life.I believe the double sided sticky tape to be at fault.

Unfortunately for me towequipe would rather believe the manufacturer and not replace the broken one because they would have to stand the cost.

But it appears i can stand the cost even though i have done nothing wrong.

Would i use or recommend towequipe, no i dont think so and i rated them one star as i couldnt go any lower.

I Ordered A Boot Liner For A Volvo Xc6 From Towequ

I ordered a boot liner for a Volvo XC6 from Towequipe. On arrival I found it was not 'a custom fit' as advertised and as undersized had a tendency to pull away from the Velchro fixings. Response from the company was slow and unhelpful. After a week or so I phoned and was told nothing could be done as the templates for the liners were digital and could not be changed.

The manufacturer of these was Titan Covers. I contacted them direct and within 20 minuted they agreed to remake the cover to measurements I specified.

To Titan Covers ....five stars for their excellent service and product (finally)

To Towequipe........one star because I am unable to give less.

Towequipe Car Mats

I purchased some new car mats from www.towequipe.co.uk for my BMW.

They were the wrong colour, wrong fit and three of them lacked velcro fixings.

They were supposedly 'custom made' for my vehicle.

I wished to return them for a full refund and return postage costs and this is the resonse I received from a Mr. Rowson :-

"I have checked the listing as we do not specify the shade of Beige or that the item will match the original specification of the vehicle. Therefore the item has been sold as stated. Although the shape will not match exactly any previous mats that were in the vehicle as they will have been sourced from a different location they will fit in the foot well providing the coverage that is required for a foot mat."

So, in effect, they are saying that because they do not say something until after you have ordered it then you can take the blame for ordering it!

This firm is typical of the new breed of UK business that puts their profit first and the customer last.
