I went to get a engine for my Audi a3 which I waz quoted 1800 wen I got there they showed me a bogus engeine please keep away from these doggy people

When getting a engine installed Cameron advised to get a new clutch installed to save labour, so I did as it made sense. Months down the line my clutch failed and I was left in a dangerous situation on the motorway. After having the car still under warrantee I went back to Ideal engines and for some strange reason was not taking ownership for my clutch. I tried many times to have a professional approach however he just wouldn't budge. So I went to Mr Clutch to have them inspect the problem and to find out when removing the gearbox there had been no clutch installed in my vehicle at all.I was so shocked and furious that this had happened. I have clear evidence and a written report from Mr clutch stating that its still the original clutch from audi, a log of all conversations had with them. This team are running a company which has no leadership whilst the director, exports engines from Dubai. Overall this was a breech of sales and good act with not covering it under my warrantee but as they never installed a clutch at all and took my cash money they are in breech of contract. All I want is my money back !! I warn all public not to use this company, after researching this company has had many names and have also closed many down. They have also recently posted a site where he's trying to justify why they may have so many negative feedback customers but the bottom line is these customers are only stating what has actually happened to them. He should not be stating that many people are just hating this company as if they are so incompetent delivering such poor work then they should not be working in the trade at all. I ordered a replacement Mercedes Vito van engine. Paid over £1200, was promised a week delivery. Phoned various times & told following excuses:

It's in France

It's still in France as label fell off pallet

o.k we made a mistake it was never sent out, confused by paperwork

We will have it & will be sent out in a couple of days.

5 weeks later, still no enginer & I have a van that can barely move a few miles without overheating with 2 engineers worried about their jobs as they need the van.

They have changed their names a few times, they are now ideal engines - same address & phone number in barking

7th May 2013 - Bought engine for 3 or 4 thousand pounds in mid March 2013 - late arrival.not correct engine. ask me to ''adapt''. Why?? when told it was correct lol... then lied too over two months re were was engine,when it would be delievered etc. everything others have said.Lied to when in contact - fobbed me off. stated they would replace engine - but why when they insisted over two months it was right one. lies lies lies. laughable sales and mamanagement.Lies lies lies.

payed 950 Pounds for a cylinder head. never turned up. called them hundred times and always a new excuse

I asked for a tracking number, and they say that they do not use tracking numbers on shipment. There is no modern shipping agent who do not use a tracking system.

they have a good home page and looks superb. they have good feedbacks spread by themselves.nothing is wat it seems. just do not spend your money here.

I paid for a reconditioned Astra engine (£1195) on 7/12/12 via bank transfer(should have thought something was wrong when Paypal and credit card payments were refused)

The year has ended now and no engine has arrived and a refund was refused.

I have dealt with Daniel, Mo, and at least 3 other people, all of whom refuse to let me talk to the previous person I dealt with and want to start my enquiry from scratch then promise to call back in half and hour. I have never ever had a call back from them, no invoice to say I have paid and all sorts of excuses about the courier sending it to the wrong place, even the wrong country! They refuse to give me a tracking number and one guy says it is being delivered with TNT and another with GE couriers. I firmly believe that no engine for me has ever left their premises and that they don't stock any engines. They make a sale then go looking for one in a breaker yard and prep it for sale. I cannot believe that there are so many bullshitting thieves under one roof in England. A very flashy website for a criminal operation. I really wish I had seen this website before engaging with them.

I paid for a gearbox from this company over three weeks ago and it still has not turned up! Every time I called I got a different excuse.I am now trying to get my money back but when I call I get told the finance people are not there or there's no one who can help me.I am quite concerned I will never get my money back and doubt if the gearbox ever actually existed! I am now in the process of going through trading standards- if you have dealings with this company and have not received your goods within I week I suggest you demand a refund and if they mess you about you get straight on to trading standards. I wish I'd never called this company and I am not the only one, just do a Google search for "ideal engines" and you will see all the complaints!I doubt very much if all the good reviews on this site are genuine- they seem very similar!

Ordered a 'reconditioned' gearbox and diff for my impreza from these jokers Aka smr engines. first the item took 6 weeks to arrive - after being fobbed off with fake delivery numbers and dates 3 times. calls weren't returned etc etc, the gearbox arrived only after I 'offered' to come and 'collect' it in person.

On arrival it was inspected by my specialist and it had not been reconditioned but was a salvage item, i'd waited so long that I told them to fit it any way. It lasted 20 miles before the diff failed and had to be replaced.

No refund no replacement

Read through car forums such as scoobynet.com and you will see the same stories.

Always check out a company before you pay them any money

The best thing about ideal engines is that its good value for money andi didnt have to scour place to plce for my 99 toyota celica, just put the details on the website and it was done. The engine was delivered a bit late but it was a good unit. Received a courtesy call from their customer service after a month if everything was runniing f9 , a nice touch to make me feel valued.

Was looking for automatic gearbox for my Vauxhall Vectra, went with Ideal Engines as they gave the lowest price, was amazed with the quick the delivery, it was at my doorstep the in 48 hours. Will recommend to friends and family.
