I ordered a reconditioned Mazda Bongo engine which arrived and turned out to be very second hand, just pulled straight from another car and delivered complete with the severed ends of the old cooling hoses still attached from the old vehicle.

Tried to negotiate a refund which was refused, so I swallowed my pride and fitted the engine as there was no time left to source a new unit.

The engine block was full of rust and I had to replace every electrical component on the engine just to get it running!

Tried for over a year to get the £100 surcharge back and was promised at least 6 times that the money was on its way. Surprise surprise it never arrived. They have now stopped even answering the phone so I have given up and just have to put this horrible experience behind me!!

Ordered and paid for 2nd hand skoda octavia engine on 24th july '15. First delivery promise of 28th july was not met, nor were subsequent promises of 31st july and 7th august met. Being a taxi driver, i was losing money every day my taxi was off road. I had made this company well aware of my situation in the numerous fone calls (over 100!) made in the few weeks i was waiting for the engine. I eventually had to cancel the order on the 11th aug and was eventually promised a full refund by text on the 29th aug. Refund never received and now i cant contact anyone by fone despite their website still doing business!! My bank cant help because i paid by bank transfer, trading standards wont help because the engine was for business purposes, which leaves me with the option of taking out a small claims court action!! Out of pocket to the tune of 1295 pounds! Expensive lesson learned (i hope!). Can't believe a company can get away with taking customers money, not supplying the ordered item nor giving a full refund.   do not do business with the website carengines. Ps. Ordered another engine from a different company, received it within 3 days and was back on the road within a week!
