Worst Customer Experience Ever
I love listening to audiobooks and have bought many audible audiobooks, which I have enjoyed listening to. But when you have a problem and need to speak to their customer service you realise what an horrendous company they are.
They have been taken money wrongly from me, from a credit card I have never given them permission to use. Any normal company would apologise and repay the money but not them. After seven phone calls to them they still haven't paid it all back, and I have been lied to at least five times. Someone will contact you in a few days they say, but they never do. One person even went as far as booking a time for them to phone me and then not bothering to call. It is impossible to speak to anyone other than the people you get through to on the phone. No one higher up will speak to you, they are either mute or just cowards, who don't wish to defend the indefensible. Dealing with them is one of the most frustrating and depressing experiences of my life and it makes me disgusted that I have ever given them money.
In summary a great product but an absolutely disgraceful company who treat their customers dreadfully and have no morals or decency. Avoid like the plague.

Horrible
Worst company ever. They kept taking money from my account after I cancelled my membership (to which I hadn't even agreed to) and their email/phone/online chat help is the most incompetent you will ever encounter. I wish I could give zero stars. Avoid like the plague.
Don't Trial It
Don't trial this, you may like me end up with a subscription to Audible somewhere else in the world, who will happily keep taking your money even though you don't want the product/service. The money will also be taken in foreign currency and it will take you hours to sort out. Audible told me yesterday lots of people have made this error but far from solving the problem they say it is the customer's fault for not reading the T & Cs

Terrible
Terrible website always crashing, have 'lost' payments. Vouchers are worthless as website won't automatically use then, no direction on how to apply. Customer service just a joke. Just a waste of time and money.
I would not recommend this to anyone best bet go to bookshop and get an audiobook. One of the worst online subscription services I've ever used.
If I could give zero stars I would.

Spamming Scumbags
Never make the mistake of downloading a 'free' audio book from these charlatans. They're associated with Amazon, which gave me some unfounded confidence in doing so. I never did receive the book. But before long they were spamming my inbox with careless abandon, in direct conflict with my clearly-expressed preferences not to receive such material. Plus they use the old trick of having a non-functional "opt out of receiving marketing" link in their emails. They are, in short, absolute scumbags. As their antics are targeted at poorly-sighted and blind readers, their behaviour is even lower than most spammers.
I didn't sign up for an account with them. However, since they appear to have details of my Amazon account which I didn't give them, they have access to my payment methods registered with Amazon as well. I'm therefore concerned that a company that demonstrates such poor ethical behaviour in their spamming would also have no qualms about taking payment without permission. I see other reviewers have complained about this company being deliberately obstructive in cancelling membership fees. I can believe it. I'll be keeping a very close eye on my bank account. And in the meantime I think I'll remove my registered payment details from Amazon as a preventative measure.
It looks like Amazon, like Google before them, have jumped the shark when it comes to the trust that consumers could once have in them. Audible.co.uk is a prominent example of the way they treat consumers with contempt.
I fully agree, was given one as an Xmas gift, couldn't redeem the code and they started charging my account monthly! I did not relieve any books and did not give them permission to do this. To be avoided at all costs.

Ripped Off
I got a "free trial" and cancelled immediately I realised their range was poor. They continued taking payments and I slipped up because I didn’t check my credit card estatements. Audible UK would only refund 3 months despite me having never had a single product.

No Way To Gift Books Or Even A Customer Care Dpt
Yes the system for buying books has worked well. But it is the extras that make the difference between a poor or great service. Although the facility was there in the past there is now no way of gifting a book to anyone! A basic service I would say. Also no customer care telephone or email facility!
