No Drama No Trolls
Finally a place that doesn't have trolls. Can just chat and have good banter. Arcade keeps me entertained for hours. Always some to chat to. Forums is easy to use. Safe site with new security. Highly recommend them.

been here over a year know great manage site by all admin and mods they always make people feel welcome i like the idea of registrations because it stops all of the people bad people we dont want in here we are a chat site who want friendly people no one causing troulble and i like the idea of no guests being able to enter as guests with no proper name and the arcade is fantastic to play friendly competition so if anyone want to talk to a proper chat site then this is the safest site on the net please do come try us you will come back and back

I have to say from the start it's been a wonderful relief to find this site. It is the sort of chat site I have been looking for.
All other sites I have attended you get trolls and perverts spoiling your time. Vari has none of those. Not once have I been approached by someone in a lewd way. I have never been asked for pictures or any of that sort of thing.
It's not always busy but when it is it is a lot of fun. There are times its hard to keep up with the banter in the room.
The admins/owners of the site are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to make sure we have fun in a safe manner. I see someone said there was more workers than chatters. This is just not true.
I have been a member for 3 months now and I have watched new people join and the busier times extend out, so it's a growing site.
They have events they hold on a regular basis, including trivia nights meme nights and my favourite the music club.
I'm not really into games etc but they have the arcade that a number of people enjoy and a forums as well.
The poor reviews I see here do not reflect my experience of varichat, and seem to be from people who perhaps belong to sites that are used mainly for other purposes than to have good clean fun.
I would and do recommend this site for chatters of all ages who want good clean fun chat without the hassles you get on other sites.

Admin & Mod Overkill And No Chatters.
I joined this site originally when it was new in late 2016 and left after a couple of weeks because it was dead now almost a year on I decided to give it another shot and I really don't know why I bothered it's still dead.
My number one criticism is that there are far far too many staff and hardly any real chatters.
The Forums - These have 2 dedicated forum admins and a forum mod plus 3 or 4? site admins but most sections have not been posted in for months, some since 2016! Those sections that are posted in have post after post by staff members.
The Chat Rooms - These are modded by the 3/4 site admins and 2 dedicated chat room mods yet the highest number of people I've even seen in a room (including mods/admins that never leave) is 9 it's overkill.
Whilst it looks like you have several active rooms to choose from you will find that every room has exactly the same people in, this is due to admins constantly requesting that chatters log into all rooms at once to make the site look busier. Some admins even stay logged in 24/7 so you think people are there to talk to but they are not.
In conclusion the moderation is too strict you don't feel safe you feel like someone is going to pounce on you for any tiny thing.
Yes the other review is correct when it says no trolls and no spammers but this is due to there being no chatters!
I feel I should also point out that more than one review here is written by admins/mods from the site so aren't exactly unbiased.

There is some miss information on this review.
This is our admin and moderation structure.
There is one forums admin only not 2.
There are the site admins one who covers the North American time one who covers the UK/Euro time zones and one who covers the Australasian time zone. It would be crazy for one person to try and cover what our admins are responsible for over a 24 hour period. Most of this work is behind the scenes administrative and technical work not chat room work.
We have a number of room moderators who are chosen to have a coverage of all time zones. You rarely see more than one in a room as they chat at different times. They tend to be responsible for one room, but have the ability to help out other rooms if needed.
The comment the moderation is quite strict is not true, it is very rare for a moderator to take any action including warning people. None of our chatters seem to fear anything as there is, when we are busy, a constant chatting with freedom and fun. If you read our rules they are pretty clear and not over the top for any reasonable person.
None of our admins or mods have commented here when they we working for varichat. The 1st review written here is a member who recently became admin of our forums. She wrote the review about 12 months before becoming the admin of the forums.
This person seems to have a grudge because there are claims that are not true.
1. There is only 1 forum admin and no forum mod
2. There are many more chatters in my experience than there are mods or admins
3. There moderation is not strict at all . I in my time have not seen a mod or admin jump on anyone. Mainly because all the chatters are decent people who don't need to be. The Admins and mods if anything join in on the fun banter. Its a lot of fun.

As a mother of a teenage daughter who is looking to expand her horizons, I take her wishes seriously. For her safety and my own peace of mind, I always look myself at any websites she wants to use to see if I think they are suitable and worth it. In the case of this chat site, I can honestly say no.
I can appreciate what is trying to be done here, with registration, as yes it does keep out trolls and so on. I also like the Arcade idea - this gives things to do on the site if it's quiet.
However this is where it stops. There are many negatives that I can see here, and it points to general activity of the site. I have looked at the rooms several times over the past few days and only once did the room activity show more than 2 people logged in. So I looked at the forums. Many boards haven't even been posted in for months. There only seems to be a handful of users. And what appears to be an admin almost begging people to log in longer to catch new people - this sounds desperate. The usage was much higher looking back ealier in the year but there appears to be a large amount of banned users. This is looking like a case of if you aren't liked you are chucked out. The news page repeats the site name with "free chat" so many times it's clear this is an attempt to get more hits on search engines. The associated facebook page is utterly dead; very few posts and only by site staff members. Looking at a number of reviews they also seem to be written by staff members. For a site that seems little used, it seems very sluggish at loading the web pages too.
I know my daughter will be banned from this site early on, as if people ask for a picture I tell her "Never ever give one of yourself" - so if she IS bullied into producing one then because it's not her she will get banned for keeping herself safe.
This looks like a dying site with very little activity and very little going for it, barring the arcade. Promotion seems to be non-existent, and one or two other things I have read and heard make me think this isn't the place to be.

This review has a number of inaccuracies.
No one asks for pictures and to my knowledge never do. If someone was asking a person who didn't want to they would be warned to stop doing so. At no stage has any of the Admins or moderators asked such things, it is not our policy to do so, nor will it ever be. If you read our safety pages we give warnings about sharing pictures on the net. We also talk about actions you can take if someone is making you feel uncomfortable or feel bullied.
As far as banned users, there is currently 7 banned users in total for the site(out of 780 registered chatters). Some who used multiple accounts trying to hurt our chatters. Some accounts on forums were spam accounts that all forums get, they tend to be from people trying to advertise pornography. None of those forums accounts are from the main chat site. We have since found a better way of dealing with these nefarious registrations and they are removed and banned before they get in. This is standard procedure for the vast majority of forums on the web.
I note that the largest independent chat site on the net who has 1000s of chatters in its room at any given time, their forums are used about as much as ours are.
We do not ban because we don't like someone. We use evidence base procedures. We actually work very hard to make sure we do not unfairly ban someone. We also do not over moderate the rooms. Interestingly our members are really good chatters, they don't do anything that requires a warning mute or kick in general. Being good chatters means the room can seem busy with only 10 in a room.
The forums are used by far more people than site workers.
You are complaining about standard SEO(Search Engine Optimisation)practices that all sites use in order to get a better ranking on Google. That is an effort to grow the site for the benefit of our chatters. Interestingly it is working with new registrations and chatters daily. SEO is a standard thing all professionally run sites do. You would be silly to not do so as search engines is where people find businesses these days. Google even helps you to do this. I note at the end of this comment you say promotion seems nonexistent yet you complain about the use of standard SEO practice.
That brings us to the dying comment. We are a new and growing site. New chat sites are never busy 24/7 in the first 3 years of existence especially sites that use safe practices (there are very few). Even the currently biggest independent chat site(which does not use safe practices for its chatters) went through this at its beginnings. I note at certain times we are busier than a number of rooms on this site.
I think this person has never been to this site as it isn't my experience or the experience of my friends there. No one is ever bullied into anything from what I have seen
No one is ever asked to give a picture on this site. As a matter of fact it is frowned upon by the mods and regular members to do so.
There are only about 10 -15 banned users at most. They were people caught breaking the serious rules as listed and were a danger to other users.
The site is growing weekly with new chatters joining every day.
This review is totally inaccurate as to what really happens.

A Breathe Of Fresh Air
In the world of chat sites Varichat is a breath of fresh air.
The bad review here is a perfect example why. He was caught doing attempting to do bad things and was thoroughly investigated and dealt with.
It's really safe and friendly. Unlike other site I don't get unwanted private messages. Everyone is really friendly. They have systems in place to protect people, especially those who are between the ages of 13-18.
The owners actually chat and really care. They are continually upgrading and creating new things for us. The arcade is fun and the special events they put on are great to.
Because they are new there are quiet times but we see it growing. I see this site becoming very popular with those looking for non sleazy decent family friendly chat.
They call it a community and it really is.

The bad comment was only submitted because the Admin made false and unsubstantiated accusations against my wife and me,
And once again I shall point out the FACT that one of these so called caring Admin is Banned and Black Listed in other Chat Rooms for wrong doing and question intentions

This person is well known to us and is a known paedophile
He was banned for making and using 5 separate accounts including an underage disabled girl. He used the under aged account to attempt to procure underage girls for sex acts online.
His details and the evidence have been sent to law enforcement. The evidence is irrefutable.
The administrator on our site who is banned from the forums of another site was banned because she was one of the people who started varichat. Incidentally she started it because it became obvious that the other site by its actions or lack of encouraged potential harm to young chatters.
Email registration is standard procedure on all the well run professional sites on the net. If you do not use this procedure there is no effective way to protect younger chatters from people such as this reviewer.

Having tried loads of sites...this one is like a breath of fresh air!..Its well managed and controlled by experienced Mods....NO adverts!....NO trolls! ...and zero tolerance of perverts.
Not only that...theres more! They have a games arcade that has games to interest everyones tastes...AND it saves scores!
The Forums are both fun and entertaining...with lots of neat features.....for example, there are loads of different skins..so you can customise it to suit yourself
Its hard to find anything negative to say about it. In fact I cant find anything negative to say except for the fact that it can be a little quiet at times as its a new site and it has to grow. But I am convinced it WILL grow to be huge! It has so much to offer.
Those that chat there now, the original chatters are all nice people and have some great chats. Do yourself a favour...GIVE IT A TRY !!!

The mods treat you well and you don't have the hassle of people spamming the place with unwanted Ads.
