Mapped Travel allows users to share their favourite points of interest in any city around the world with anyone else by navigating an interactive map.

The interface is quick and logical and I liked the clean presentation (no clutter) though some of my friends find it a bit drab. You are required to register (but there is no huge information gathering as with Facebook).

In terms of an armchair travel and trip planning tool it has a lot of potential, but not much more right now. There are good filters to find the right sights, a search function and a cool feature to add private notes to an point you like (which you can share with others and even compile into a personal travel guidebook). Why is it potential and not more? There aren't many entries yet. Maybe it'll grow. We'll see...
