Extreme Views
I joined You Gov as I was interested in giving mt views on politics, shopping, newspapers etc
I received a weekly survey which suited my interests.
However, if you respond to other members views directly on the You Gov web site, be ready for a torrent of abuse if they dont like what you have to say.
I have never seen such offensive language when it comes to reader response to a personal view on a subject. Words such as Bigot, racist, homophobic. It seems to me that the majority of members seem to be either racist, extremists or homosexual
To me these people are only on You Gov to vent their extreme views on society and are not there to take part in a rational discussion on sensible issues.
I made a statement how that attending Grammar School did not help my education ( I was the son of a farm labourer)but hindered it as I learn`t no practical skills- only to be informed I was a Philistine.
I also made a comment of how Eddie Izzard was a good actor. then I received comments asking if I had anything against homosexuals !
Make any sort of comment on You Gov and expect a torrent of abuse, I can do without this in my senior years
Today, I read a discussion about Katherine Jenkins the singer, well most of the comments related to her "rear" - what on earth has that to do with a research web site
You Gov appears to make no effort in deleting offensive language.
I was under the impression that You Gov was for the more mature person, but I was totally wrong.
After a few months of being unable to hold a sensible conversation about the most mundane topics, I have cancelled my membership.
Just an update to my last comment:- I wrote to You Gov outlining my concerns, but I received no reply
Well, that says it all, they dont care a toss about what comments are written on their site
Best avoided, if you want to keep calm
