Poor Service

I worked with Inspiring Interns when I graduated and I have to say the experience was just so bad.

Behind the 'funky' and 'innovative' facade is just another slack recruitment firm; they secured me an interview the day that I signed up with them and forgot to send through case studies to complete, which slowed down the process, and then didn't even bother to tell me that I didn't get the job 3 weeks later.

I was also told that it was a job that paid 'national minimum wage' (which as a grad with London rent in itself is terrible) but when I arrived at the interview with the client they told me they 'hated Inspiring Interns' and that they always got it wrong - the role was actually a 3 month UNPAID internship. Just awful, and false advertising.

I had to call up II to find out that I hadn't the job, and their feedback from the client was 'not enough experience'. For a graduate unpaid internship.

Thanks!

Disinterested And Rude

so far, my experience with Inspiring Interns has been that they really do not care at all. I have been treated like i'm 'too demanding' because I have to pay rent, so I can't afford to take an internship that doesn't pay even minimum wage. I was told that a paid role was asking way too much and then just ignored - they never send me any information or opportunities, and i never hear back when i point out opportunities from their site that i'd be suitable for. Huge waste of time using this service.

To Old For Internship

I have been working in the construction industry, And decided that to better myself, to return to school and recently graduated with a 2:1 in Mathematics. After applying for various roles on inspiring interns, I received messages that they were very busy and would get back to me in two weeks. After four weeks I called the London office and they told me that I was to old to apply. I am 36 yrs old - how else am I to gain work experience if internships are exclusively for the younger generation.

Thanks

(un)inspiring Interns And Exploited Graduates

As a recent graduate with a first class degree from a Russell Group university, I joined the masses desperate for a job opportunity. After seeing the glowing recommendations of Inspiring Interns online, I decided to apply and selected a few PR focused roles that really appealed. I was invited to travel to London in order to create a video CV and talk about what I wanted from an internship. I expressed that I was really looking for PR roles, but I was told these were rare/almost non-existent (despite their being numerous PR roles advertised on the II website). Over the next few days I was bombarded with roles that had little or no appeal, but I decided to take an interview for a digital marketing role after feeling almost pressured by the recruiters. After the interview I was asked whether I would consider moving to London rather than commuting, as the cost to the employer would be too high if I travelled from home. I declined and presumably someone else who was willing to receive lower expenses was hired. It baffles me that whilst Inspiring Interns cash in around £500 per intern hired, the intern actually gets paid next to nothing; more often that not, travel and lunch expenses only. I was then sent a couple more random roles, and after declining these I think II gave up on me. Luckily, I pursued a career in PR via sites such as PRCA and have recently landed a graduate job at a London agency. My advice to other graduates would be this- DO NOT look to Inspiring Interns for opportunities. Though they boast a high success rate, they are an exploitative company with no true regard for your aspirations and worth as an intelligent graduate. Send speculative CVs directly to companies, follow these up and use credible job sites- trust me, a bit of persistence and self-belief pays off!

I've Only Been Registered For A Week Or So But I'm

I've only been registered for a week or so but I'm very confident Inspiring Interns will help me find my first graduate job. I applied on a Friday and was contacted on the same day. The interview took place the following Tuesday, and a member of the team contacted me on behalf of a company who wished to interview me. I was surprised and definitely impressed at how quickly I was offered something. I couldn't take it due to the travelling involved, but that's not really the companies fault. I'd definitely recommend it to any new graduates!
